Your ideal Swansea eleven for next season
at 23:15 1 Jun 2024

Even with the little I have seen of Watts I would go with him over Fisher, I expect my goal keeper to be able to track the flight of the ball, Fisher seem to lose track of the ball, hence shot bouncing off his body or passing through his hands because he has mistimed the ball, I would question his eyesight and I don't mean that flippantly, think if checked he and us may benefit.

Very hard question, do we know who will still be with us at the start of the season quite a few players contracts seem up in the air at the moment.
Unless there has been any more news?

Think with Key and Tymon they offer us options similar to Manning being able to play further up the park on the flanks if needed , the youngsters mentioned also seem to give us options on the flanks, hopefully Parker and Ginelly providing fitness prevails can become permanent fixtures.
For me the middle of the park is the biggest issue with regards player qualities that aren't being utilised properly with not enough cover, really think we need a look to the future, not the past, by all means use what we have but we need someone different because we look very fragile when teams become intent on putting pressure on us.

Think we would need cover if Wood goes and if someone gets injured but do we really need a loan in the back four that as cover would surely spend most of his time on the sidelines, think it is really the time to develop our own with first team game time
And/Or
buy youngish players who have been released by the bigger clubs to fill some of the gaps we have elsewhere on the pitch.
If Humphreys became available and we could afford him I'd have him back.

Live music?

Any good bands seen recently that people would recommend to go and see, local or any other bands?
Level 42 seen last year and they well exceeded my lower expectations, highly recommend.
Saw Joe Kelly & The Royal Pharmacy at the Brecon Jazz festival, not really jazz but enjoyed them live. Blues/ Country rock didn't know anything about them.

Sunday at Ferryfest was very family oriented in the day went with the family and Grandson didn't stay late as it looked as if the weather was turning and after an early can needed an afternoon kip, doesn't take much these days.

Proof would have been if he had the conviction to stick with his principles and honoured his contract, not many of the supporters would have offered him a new contract after the first two years but may have been happy to let him prove his tactics in the third year and the club could have given him an extension in the third year of his contract if things carried on improving from the end of his second season run.

Why would you assume it would be lower paid workers taking a freebie, I sure higher earners would be just as happy to take a handout?

Wasn't Reading the go to festival at the time? Managed to go to Monsters of Rock at Donnington 1980-1982, Rainbow, AC/DC and Status Quo were the headliners in year order but they were one day events, never got round to anything longer.

I am loathed to pay the stupid prices to see the likes of the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and Genesis now they have seem to be taking the proverbial, just went to Cardiff to see the Black Keys and really enjoyed at less than a third of the price also standing so could get as close as I wanted.

Caught Genesis live on the Mama tour and enjoyed but they did stupid pop covers songs as encores which tainted it a bit but they were excellent, It is worth seeing Steve Hacket if you get the chance, seen him three times which were recently, him and his band were great well worth the money.

Can only agree, good coaches that had experience prior to being with us but all benefitted from being with us and left us as better coaches. With Brendan we also reaped the benefit similar to Forest and Southampton.
As a club we are still trying to turn the corner in stopping the decline that saw us drop from the Premier league, roll on next season.

Brendan Rogers wasn't exactly pull up trees before he came to us if my recollection is correct perhaps he had gain enough experience to move the Swans squad forward with some well thought out signings, could he have been classed as a journey man or a manager taking one step forward two steps back, to then push on with a team with potential?

The addition of the wingers and return of Key from injury added a element of hope for the future with the likes of Parker, the defence will be ok provided we don't constantly over commit in the push to win games.
No I don't think any of the three would have done any better with last seasons squad, the years under Martin and last season and into this is about rebuilding a squad capable of at least have a shot at promotion but with the comings and goings and injuries there is a lot of work to do to move towards that goal.

Potter, Cooper and Martin inexperienced managers at Championship level all gained from their time at the Swans Sometimes it is the ability of the manager to fit players at their disposal in as many facets of a game as possible to ensue the team picked functions properly with the ability to adapt to change as games momentum changes.
What might have happened if they had more experience when they got here? Don't really care now,
let's hope Williams gained from his first look at the Championship and what sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.

Like what I have seen of Evan Watts although that is very little mind you, if you can trust a young Rushworth then would be happy to try him, does need to bulk up a bit but seen him make a number of decent saves and with a settled back four might just work out OK.

Is there a time when the penny drops with talented ex players that they cannot coach?
Is it a case that they expect everyone to be able to play to the standard that they could and struggle to understand why they can't.

Very young team who needed guidance as to how they needed to play as a team, you can have many good players but if there is no team structure in place and no leaders on the pitch then things can fall apart very quickly which we saw even in some of their games later on in the season.

Wasn't the game the Joe Jordan incident was in an us them to qualify for a major competition if memory is correct.
As for England,... Swansea Cardiff, Wrexham and Newport all play in the Football league that was renamed the English Football League and I have followed their results as long as I can remember and as a youngster TV was how I followed Football as that was the only way I could watch it and that was mainly only highlights and the rare televised matches were cup finals so you ended up picking a second team to support in my case Chelsea given a couple of good years in the early 70s so I am more than happy to support England's in major football competitions if they do not conflict with Wales progress as I spend as much time as I could watching the British teams.
Rugby is a totally different kettle of fish England are always in direct competition and so rarely garner my support.

As for why didn't I go watch the Swans live as a kid I was always playing on Saturdays and my older brother took me to games when he could, I gave up playing for a year after school and went to the home games and a couple of away games in Toshak's promotion year to the First Division but even that success wasn't enough to stop me playing the following year.
The arrival of a family meant finishing playing and meant spending weekends with them leading to some pretty poor football coaching attempts by me.
Finally managed to get season tickets when the kids interest in football grew.
Now and as long as I remember a Swansea or Wales win against any team overrides any other results.

How many play on carrying injuries, you would think that the bigger clubs would be able to get injuries sorted quickly but with the monies involved ensuring better players stay on the pitch doesn't always mean the best interests of the players are considered.
