Yes I remember that, fact about the length of the baths hence it couldnt be used for big competitions despite having the seating capacity for events of that nature. The flume was only added in the late 1980's early 90's and after that date I didn't go that often to the baths, in fact I rarely went after the mid 1970's I just wasn't that interested in swimming |

No one can deride someone if they cannot afford it, but look at the stick that Liverpool fans get on here for 30,000 of them having season tickets and travelling 200 miles from the South for a home game every other week. |

I seem to remember the deep end was 16ft 6 inches, the pool started at 3ft deep at one end and then slowly got deeper to about 6ft, then dropped sharply down to the full depth about half way. |

Interesting story about Aleksei Cherednik the USSR player who joined Saints in 1990, who was questioned by police after trying to change some counterfeit banknotes for £'s in a Southampton bank. He was not charged, but what other Saints players have fallen foul of the law whilst at the clu. |

That is a little disappointing given our form in the last few weeks and the win at West Ham, this is a big game against a promotion rival who will bring the full 3,000 fans, it should be selling out |

Obviously if your town has not club you have to support one near by, so I think it is more about region than the town/city itself |
 | Forum Reply | Phones Down | Sing Up? at 18:15 26 Oct 2026
I would imagine so, but as I say why do i need a phone its just a distraction, if im watching a game i don't want goal alerts from other games, I want to concentrate on the game i'm watching. If someone needs to phone me urgently, most of them know who I will be with and can get hold of me through them |
 | Forum Thread | Good Quote From Danny Dyer at 18:13 26 Oct 2026
I can't argue with this. “The team you support, picks you. I see loads of people following teams they’ve got absolutely no connection to. You should be supporting the side you’ve been born to support. If you’re not from Liverpool, I just don’t get why you’d want to support Liverpool. Yeah, your able to choose whoever you want, but you’ll never get that true feeling of being in a ground where everyone’s from the same place, speaks the same, and lives it the same way. That’s what it’s like being a West Ham fan. We all sort of know each other, and these big clubs turn up expecting that they will take three points. Most of the time they do, but every now and then you pull off a massive result, and it means everything to the lads in the ground. If you’re a Cockney supporting Liverpool, you’ll never get that feeling. Singing songs about places you’ve got no connection to, it just doesn’t sit right with me. I’ve always found it strange. And when you’ve got two Londoners, one supporting United and the other Liverpool, arguing about their rivalry… it just feels off. That rivalry comes from history, from the docks, from working-class roots. It runs deep. If you’re from somewhere like Colchester, go and support Colchester. That’s your club.” |

It wasnt a dig at Peretz, I praised him up and said he was man of the match for the saves he made, i have given him full credit for his performances since the international break, but you can't overlook other areas of the game. I dont care about what Gavin Bazunu does now he has left the club, I only care about our own players performances |

 | Forum Reply | Jason Wilcox at 12:44 26 Oct 2026
If Wilcox had stayed then firstly we wouldn't have signed the dross that we did in the summer of 2024. Secondly he would have counselled Russell Martin about the way he needed to play in the Premier League to get the best out of his players and if Martin hadn't been listening he would have sacked him a lot earlier. The real issue wasn't so much the style of play, but the degree to which it was implemented, with no leeway allowed for the players to clear their lines. Tonda likes his team to play from the back and not hoof it, but he gives his player the freedom to play out if in trouble. |
 | Forum Reply | Lewis Dobbin vs Ross Stewart at 12:41 26 Oct 2026
Ross Steward could have played in 12 League games for Swansea, he has been unfit an not in the squad for 8 of them. He had been an unused sub in another 2 and came off the bench just twice the first for 9 mins and the second for 25. I agree we miss Stewart and that Mubama is not the answer, but if we had kept Stewart, he would not have been much use to us it would seem, although in fairness I think his agents brought it on him by trying to hold out for the best deal money wise instead of the best club playing wise, meaning he had no pre season and Swansea have not managed his injury as we did. We need to get through to January and then make two key signings in the areas we need |
