League Cup takes on new importance for struggling Hoops — match preview
at 10:23:04

I go along with the general agreement, we should go for this competition, and a couple of the youngsters aren't too bad replacements either, both having a fair amount of experience behind them, NB Ehmer, who has plenty of first team experience, even though at a lower level, and Harriman who hasn't looked out of place in his few Premier League appearances.
Though we've been worrying about the signing of older players, most of those injured are actually among the younger set; plus, these players are full-time professionals, paid a fortune, if they can't play 2 matches in a week, or 3 in 8 days, quite frankly, they shouldn't be professional footballers.
We could so benefit from a Cup run, if not a trophy at the end of the season.
A great analysis, as we come to expect of you Clive.
I'm looking for us to hammer the false hoops tonight!

What might have been… QPR bid farewell to the White Pele
at 09:44:32

Can only agree with you, Clive, a wasted opportunity, and also agree with HollowayRanger, it is likely that Adel's signing meant that the White Pele had less opportunities even whilst fit...
Good luck to the bloke, I just hope he doesn't prove the error of getting rid of him when he next plays against QPR...

Nice one, Clive, and now we have to trust that Hughes will fashion a team that doesn't falter next season, and, taking into account what you have written, and how the nucleus of the team he has been developing played at the end of the season, I think he will succeed... WE ARE QPR!

Liverpool caught in QPR’s Wednesday night lights — full match report
at 01:26:55

Another good report, as usual, Clive, and one it's very hard to find anything wrong with at all, because I can't disagree with any of it!
Webb is the best ref in the country, no arguments from me about what a great contribution he made, as in, very little interference in the match, played advantage when appropriate, and no bookings!
Yep, Barton had to go off, but how many managers would take off their captain? I think the captaincy should be taken away from him, like other very good sportspersons, he just doesn't seem to be able to cope with the repsonsibility of being captain. Take that away, and he may be able to get back to the very good player we all know he can be. Sunderland? I expect he will start, but you never know...
Diakite? Not the best of starts for us, but he is steadily becoming a decent looking player, what an improvement last night!
Mackie? Can't take anything away from the lad, he is determined, will run for ever, not the best footballer, but what a spirit. I tend to agree, he's a great person to bring on as an impact sub.
Zamora, but particularly, Cisse, are two good signings, and may just save us beinbg demoted... and Cisse appears to have similar passion to Mackie, he could well become another QPR legend (I hope).
I'm actually looking forward to Sunderland, if it weren't for work commitments, I'd love to be there.
Good stuff QPR, and good stuff, Clive :-)

Nice one, Clive, couldn't have put it better myself... Just who do the 'authorities' think they are, it's Terry and the Chelsea followers who will be the racist scum at Loftus Road tomorrow, not Rangers!?!
Loadsa noise tomorrow, and we may just not lose, and the players may just be able to keep a tight defence and get another early goal, if HH is on the pitch at the beginning of the 90 minutes... Then there WILL be some noise...
Come ON U RRRRRRRRRRRrrrrss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Swansea’s illusion of grandeur punctured by Mackie — full match report
at 08:54:08

Agree with most of the above, another good article, Clive, perceptive as usual. Faurlin is becoming the consistently good player in our midfield, Adel played well at last, but Warnock has said he is getting fitter, and I think this has been one of the main reasons he has been left out recently, that and his petulence.
Joey Barton? Where to start? He seems to have forgotten how to pass the ball (please watch Faurlin Joey!) or how to take dead ball kicks, but that seems the same for the whole lot of them. Could we just bring Cook back to take corners, like those blokes that come in for American Rules games just to kick the ball? However, Barton did play his best for a while in the reshaped team that casme out for the second half...
Now, that does seem to be a positive, I'm trusting, of Warnock's making, ie, with the same players, he still turned round the way they were playing, but I fear that your (Clive) suggestion it was more the result of the opposition manager's reshape that helped us. I think it helped, but I also think he was responding to QPR actually playing better after about 35 minutes, particularly in the second half.
Fizsall playing 90 minutes+, has to be applauded, though doubt he'll survive another 90 minutes at Arsenal. The worries over our defence carries on, and losing Traore very soon too is worrying.
Close thing re our best player between Ale and Adel, not sure I'd go for Adel, but it was his best performance so far this season, though I think I'd go for Faurlin, but so close to call it's hard to disagree.
Last thing ("at last", I hear anyone who bothers to read this far down) but, Mr Mackie, the only thing I can say is that what he lacks in skill he makes up for in enthusiasm, and it was a superbly taken goal, well controlled with his chest (no need for him to use his arms) and put past the keeper with aplomb... I'm so pleased for the lad!
Arsenal, yep, again, can only agree, we'll either win, lose or draw, ie who knows which QPR will turn up?

Baggies boing back leaving QPR counting costly misses — full match report
at 09:14:26

Agree regarding the silence v applause argument, Clive, silence to show respect and reflect on the individual's life, indeed, to reflect on all tragedies, versus an outward show of appreciation of what someone has achieved. The reason that 'authorities' are more likely to go for applause is because it does drown out the to$$ers, and it has become almost the first choice made now. Personally, I agree that silence, properly observed, is best, but, even allowing for peer group pressure, or thumping someone, to shut up those who do make a noise, it still disrupts the silence. I think we'll have to accept that applause to celebrate the life of the individual will be the usual direction to take for the near future.
As always, can't really add much about the match, as usual, you've provided an excellent description and analysis of the 90+ minutes. Yep, HH has shown Warnock was right to continue with his support of the player, and it's a shame he didn't start the season as first choice. I think that, though not having his best match, Joey B does help the central midfield to look much stronger, and Faurlin just keeps getting better, and we all make mistakes, which, despite his beration, St Neil still gave Faurlin much praise later. He was a great signing, and looking better as the years pass, and still a young lad!
Also, not quite as good this match, but Mackie does put in a heck of a lot of work, love the lad.
Finally, the back 4, if kept together (injuries wont let this happen, so we do need a defensive signing or two in January) look better and better as a unit, and Cerny isn't so bad for our third choice keeper!

Thursday Diary — Warnock on Ferdinand, Ephraim on Charlton, Stoke travel info
at 21:28:17

LOL slranger40! - Reminds me of an earlier visit to Port Vale via Stoke and talking to the police, they hate the Potteries teams 'support', the 'dedicated' buses are because Stoke fans, as we all know, are notoriously violent towards anyone who doesn't support Stoke. If you're going, either drink well away from Stoke, eg Burslem, and get a taxi to the ground, or, for safety's sake, follow police advice.
Cheers, and good luck!!

Bale force blows QPR out of the water at Spurs — full match report
at 21:09:56

Everyone is pretty much in agreement that our second half performance was actually very good, just not in it for the first half.
I thought Webb had a good match, OK, could have been more strict, but tried to keep the match flowing as much as possible, and it looked like he just didn't want to hand out cards... bit of a different atmosphere to Chelsea match!
Agree, Paddy played well, though couldn't hold onto the ball on a number of occasions, Faurlin is growing as a player match by match, Ferdinand should have the England captain's armband (get lost Terry) and SWP still has it, eh, very fast!
Cheers, Clive, the usual excellent article we expect from you :-D

Done at one end, Dunne at the other, QPR salvage a point — full match report
at 12:27:06

Agree with many comments about 'Betty' Bothroyd, he shouldn't really be in a lone targetman position, that's not his forte, the only person we have who fits the position is HH really, which is why Warnock was after an extra striker before the transfer window closed. However, Betty is playing well, but, like many strikers, it's a matter of confidence, once he scores a goal, he'll get more (I hope).
With the players we have, we should be playing with 2 strikers, but that doesn't fit with Warnock's system, so we persevere.
I was surprised at how physical Bolton were, and what they got away with, now I realise that Villa are as bad, if not worse (nb the manager)... SIX yellow cards, would have been more, but then the incompetent git that was officiating would have had to send off a couple of their players before sending off Traore. Traore, by the way, deserved the red card, ironically, we were lucky he got booked before as it became a second yellow card instead of a direct red card!
Not looking forward to Stoke, as we obviously can't cope with the more physical aspect of the game with the players we have, we're actually a bit lightweight now, and Barton's probably worried he'll give away a free kick every time he tackles someone because of the adverse publicity around him.
All in all, though, and it was said above that Villa are one of the better sides in the division, not sure if I agree with that, but they certainly aren't in the worst third of the division, so, all in all... The future looks pretty good for the Rs, we've some quality players and running rings round the opposition, even when important players like Barton and Faurlin have an 'off' day!

QPR ruthlessly slay Wolves — full match report
at 09:03:19

What a great match again, and every QPR player had a great game, maybe only Paddy couldn't be talked about in the same way, only because he had very little to do, though, he pulled off the theatrical save at the end when he would have been frozen if this match had been played in the winter.
I was wondering who you would chose as QPR player of the match, and have to agree with your choice, Traore was obviously resting when he played against United as he knew he was coming to us ;-)
Great football, great article, great times to come, we hope :-D

New look QPR side hunts rare Wolves victory — match preview
at 16:53:03

Crackling performance! Wasn't a poor individual performance among the team, just a lot of very good performances :-)
Traore is showing he can attack as well as defend, was the horror of the Arse v Manure match to do with the zonal system they play? Or because he was playing with worse defenders there than at QPR now? Who knows? What I do know is, that he, along with the rest of the newer signings, have been welcome signings of quality players at a modest price!
The defence is looking solid, and the midfield is looking electric all the way up to the opposing box. Don't want to single out anyone really, as they all played excellently... but Faurlin - Barton - SWP, and Adel for the first half, were scintillating!
Things are looking bright, things are looking Rangers :-D

LFW Travel Guides — Wolves, Molineux
at 10:01:20

The Great Western is a cracking pub, good value real ales and food, but it does say home fans only in the window, did last time anyway. I still went in and met half a dozen mates there, the son of whom was wearing colours, though he was only 6, and him and his dad came in with a posse of Wolves fans they'd met on the way... So, in small numbers, quiet as mice, but prepared to have an excellent pint of Holdens, and a great value pork cob, come into the Great Western, because, once inside, and the locals realise you're not a knobhead, you'll have great banter. I love the place, and I've been there for other reasons than just football :-)

A big day for Wigan, and the football team won too — full match report
at 09:33:26

I agree that Agyemang shouldn't be playing for QPR in the Premier League, I hope he doesn't get one of the 25 shirts, but he certainly did put pressure on the Wigan defence in the first half, but we all know he misses too many sitters, and why HE wasn't taken off second half, I don't know, others must have had injury or fitness problems... Also, and I do like him, Smith couldn't make a pass in the second half, he should have been subbed too...
One of those matches where things didn't go our way, like the Bolton match, the score doesn't reflect the match, but we have to get on with it, still 35 matches, and we're looking like making signings++ and they are certainly needed, still don't agree with Gorkss going.

QPR soap opera heads for Wigan — match preview

This morning on 5-Live they said too late for Barton to play today, so, ironically, it looks like he'll be making his debut, certainly home debut, against Newcastle, that'll be an evening to attend Loftus Road, indeed!
Whatever, good call, Clive, somewhere between 4-0 and 0-4 LOL - Ouside that and I wouldn't be surprised, either, with 2 dodgy defences, whichever, good luck to those attending, sadly, I'll be hunting the airwaves.

Bring on more signings, how many months ago did I say Crouch would be back with QPR this season? That dream is getting closer, and I would welcome him back with open arms, probably not, but, on loan? Possibility...
Whatever, lets get at least a point at Wigan (best bet), but 3 points would be a boon, before we play the Toon! U Rs!!

After a horrid summer, the day we’ve all looked forward to for years — match preview
at 09:56:00

Excellent piece of writing again, Clive, pretty much echoing my own thoughts, and, probably, of thousands of other QPR fans, because, well, we're quite clever us QPR fans really. We realise what's been going on, what's been correct or incorrect, and, in the end, we all want to support Neil and the players that he puts out on the pitch to play in (maybe too many?) blue and white hoops, because it is the fans that are QPR, as well as the lads on the pitch, and not the fly-by-nights who own the most shares at any one time, their tenure is, frankly, temporary and unprincipled.
Tomorrow, how will we do? I'm amazed it's being played, evidence of the spirit of 'we'll not give the tosspot looters an inch', because, the police force should be getting a well-earned rest really. However, it is being played, fingers crossed nothing happens tonight in London, so QPR are playing in the top division for the first time since 1996, what a long wait we've had! I'm going to lose my voice, no doubt (many will say not a bad thing), and cheer on our lads out on the pitch playing for the Rs... Score? What's a prediction, eh, a guess? So, as I am, surprisingly, very confident, a win to QPR, I'm guessing 3-1. Come ON U Rs!!
