No i wasnt. I've never quite got the hype and the thinking that hes better than Ramsdale.
He pulls off some great saves no doubt, but every game he charges from goal and misses the ball, or flaps at a cross. Other keepers would get way more stick, I've no idea why he gets a pass.
We have no clean sheets and a 25 million pound keeper sat on the bench. |

Two things seem certain every wqeek.
First Scienza gets kicked around and either shrinks from the game or goes off like Saturday. I'm sure our opponents all know this and target him now. Kick him a few times and he'll cease to be a threat, and frankly, it works.
Secondly Peretz makes one big error every week. Sometimes it costs us a goal and sometimes we get away with it. This week he could have done better with their second. Sooner or later we are going to turn to Ramsdale. |

We're 7 games into a 46 game season and we're 4 points behind the leaders after starting on minus 4.
Gotta be honest, that doesn't really scream must win to me. |

All good points.
When we are positive with the ball we look an excellent side. At the start of the second half we decided to play conservatively and before u know it we were on the back foot. They pressurised us high up and we continuously gave the ball away.
I know its my hobby horse but peretz had his usual calamitous moment when p'ing about and gave the ball straight to their striker on the edge of the 6 yard box. He got away with it luckily but he seems to be forgiven for flapping at crosses and poor distribution when other keepers aren't.
Then they scored and youre right, everything changed. We decided to go forward with intent again and suddenly there was only one winner. Everyone did well but Azaz really makes us tick. Honestly if he played with more confidence and arrogance he would be the best player in the championship. Overall a great performance. |

Good win and some great goals. We're winning games and yet I have the feeling we are still not at our best. Swansea are a decent side and will easily be top 8.
Only one downside... if I never hear freed from desire again it'll be too soon. |

Football eh? Tonda went from the messiah to a dead duck in 2 or 3 games. It's the start of the season, there's always lots of silly results. Hull beat Man U FFS.
You can never judge any team whilst the window is open. Most activity happens at the end and 2 or 3 signings can transform the team.
Let's give it ten games and see where we are before we storm the castle with our pitchforks. |

Tbf if we're going to chuck in a stinker of a performance then im glad we did it with a week of the window left.
Solak owes it to the fans to deliver a competitive team, if we can spend the money that is.
Hopefully the board got a reality check last night. |

I've said it before but peretz has a massive error in him every game. Wtf was that. He was completely alone from the corner under no pressure and he flaps at it, completely misses, and the bloke behind him nods it in. I just don't get the hype. |

Strange situation. I know Benfica has it's advantages but I assumed HB would want a move to the PL. Portugal offers European football but a fairly weak domestic league.
Then there's the price. Why on earth do they think we would sell for 20 mill?
Either way Im not bothered. to me he's limited. Some good things and some bad and i don't think he was up to it in the PL. We could replace him. But if we keep him that's fine for this year. |

He starts up front for England u21's so he must have something about him. Stoke were poor last year so he was hardly going to get a lot of chances was he. |

Hence I said last week that I still think ramsdale is the best keeper at the club. I understand why people like Peretz but he makes one big error every game. |

It was frustrating more than anything.
Passing was poor and sloppy and we looked complacent. Watford clearly decided to rough us up and frankly it worked.
Downes was good but he can be infuriating as his first thought is often backwards even when he has time to turn and look forward, but that's modern football I guess.
As was the coach giving BBD a full PowerPoint when he was coming on in the last minute. Wtf is that about.
But it was more frustration than anything. Azaz made a big difference and there were flashes of our slick passing game that showed how good we can be.
Its week one, no need to over react. |
