Nolan's film catalogue is such that I had much greater expectations. My biggest gripe was Tom Holland's performance as Telemachus. On several occasions I thought that he had morphed into Peter Parker.

I agree with your view of Samantha Morton's performance and in regards to Zendaya's Athena. A watchable film but not an epic for me. Perhaps my view will change when the disappointment of expectation subsides.

I found the Odyssey slightly underwhelming personally. A large amount of miscasting and a lot of dialogue of GCSE drama ilk. Honourable mentions to Elliott Page and Robert Pattinson who I thought were a cut above.

I had a good view of Smyth's penalty claim from X block. He stepped across the defender and braced himself in preparation to go down once he felt contact. Wasn't a penalty. I love Smyth as a player but I think he is lucky not to pick up more bookings for diving.

RTC fatalities are rare these days, largely due to technology in cars. Double fatalities are very rare. It will be interesting to know if they were wearing seatbelts. Very sad news. Thoughts are with their families.

Have to agree with you. He moves the ball well but when we are out of possession he is anonymous. His half hearted effort at blocking a cross late in the second half pretty much sums him up. I can't see him making it in this league, he hasn't got enough heart.

Madsen's languid style brings Leroy Fer to mind. Seemingly waiting for the game to come to him and not getting too involved in the chase.

From the little I have seen of him he seems good at turning in the middle of the field and moving forward with the ball - an attribute we have been missing. He has also switched play nicely on occasion by playing a long ball out to the wing.

In all I think it has been a promising start by Madsen. I do wonder if the keyboard warriors will turn on him following a bad run of results. Seemingly playing the game at 33 rpm whilst all others are at 45 rpm makes him stand out. Time will tell.
