Good omen - History
at 15:21:42

To this day Gus Caesar is the worst player - I won't call him a footballer - I have seen in the blue and white hoops, by a country mile.

That is some accolade for a QPR player.

Royals fall victim to Roberts' redemption story - Report

In school in 1977 I farted incredibly loudly - I'm not sure I've done a louder fart since - and the whole class had to stay behind because I wouldn't own up to it.

It seems unlikely that this had an impact on QPR's results over the following 46 years, but it was so obviously me that farted that I can't rule it out, so if we beat Swansea on Saturday I will know that I have been absolved of my sins.

All the time in the world - Report

"Oh God Rangers, what have you done? Opened the f***ing Ark of the Covenant is what. Lid off, ghouls everywhere. And yet no matter how much I stared at it, there was no melty faced escape."

Possibly the best thing I've ever read on here.

Fantastic report on the match and on the dreadful opponents (who look good when they try to play the game for a change).

Wow!

We knew you were good at the job already, but to publish a match report 3 days before the match takes you to another level. I was predicting a draw too, so I'm well chuffed to know we'll beat Huddersfield.

QPR Jim beat me to it.

Another great preview but we had until 5pm today to address our signings for the entire season and that wasn't on the agenda a month ago.

We have no idea what the plan will be next season but the signings of Hemed and Wells were sorely needed and we've given ourselves a chance now.

I too hope that the plan that has been sold to us come back into play but we did need to replace the experience we had lost and I think we've played the market quite well given the nightmare it's become.

And we still have Paul Smyth!

End of Term Report 17/18 — Strikers

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas? Is he the one who scored a great goal against Bolton in the last minute and then decided to do nothing for the remaining 33 months of his contract?

Other than that, a very good and fair assessment even if you did kick a puppy in the process.

Spot on, especially about Wheeler.

Maybe Ollie needs to move things around in the middle to accommodate wingers. I'd try Luongo and Scowen in midfield with Freeman wide left and Wheeler wide right. Sylla and Conor up front and Smithy ready for the second half.

See, it's easy.

Superb article. Again.

I was at all the games featured on here. All of them were special in different ways but the Oldham game was something else.

I still get goosebumps listening to the noise of the crowd when Sansom scored on that wet night in January 1990.

Spot on. I can understand the original thinking behind FFP but it is just another way in which the big clubs can widen the gap between themselves and the likes of QPR. It also means an inevitable nightmare for any club stupid or desperate enough to employ 'Arry.

End of Term Report 16/17 — Defenders
at 13:37:02

I think this article has given me PTSD.
Agreed about Furlong and it might help if we can bring in a central defender who can actually pass the ball. I like Onuoha but he is no Alan Hansen. Bidwell could well improve if Ollie plays someone who can assist him - I think he's been hung out to dry at times.

What a superb piece.

This has reminded me of how and why things have changed so much. From the age of 16 I would go to Rangers with friends and, even though that was in the late 80s, I never got into or even saw any trouble (maybe I was lucky?). We could also afford to go the matches. A couple of even used to cycle from Weybridge to Sunbury and then get a bus to the Bush and it all seemed so easy and affordable.

Now here I am looking at buying tickets for tomorrow for me and my son and it'll be more than £50 in the Upper Loft when you add in the £3.50 booking fee (and what is that for??). I'm not one for misty eyed nostalgia but football certainly isn't the people's game any more - and don't get me started on the empty corporate seats.

Clive's ideas for the Lower Loft are excellent and they've given me flashbacks to standing in the East Paddock in the late 80s and early 90s when the atmosphere could be amazing and may have helped towards some of our memorable wins against the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Leeds and Spurs. And all in the days before Sky invented football.

If I have to pick one hole in the piece, it is that Clive has been much too kind about Carlsberg. I have never met anyone who has gone out to buy or order the stuff. Probably the worst drink in the world.
