Best Midfield in the Championship

Got to stay positive. Perhaps this FFP stuff will give motivation to the team? Well...let's hope so anyway....

I'll take that as a compliment lol.

Do honestly think we have the best midfield though. Passing, creativity, tackling..we have it all. Shame the defence and the strike force let us down so often.

Win the play-off final and we will all be saying "FFP? What's that?" Lol

Most parties usually accept an arbitration ruling, that's correct.

With all the bad news around about FFP, I'd like to alter discussion back to the actual football. We've got 3 home games out of our next 4 coming up, and I believe that with our midfield we will be back in with a shout of a play-off place. Maybe I'm being optimistic again but think we can seal a play-off place this season.

Good read on this if any of you have time....

With players on 70K a week, no wonder we got into a right old mess. Unbelievable thinking really.

Wolves are nowhere near breaking FFP guidelines. Not yet anyway.

The QPR curse

Ipswich are rubbish, and they also have a Billionaire owner. They've developed young talent and pushed it through early though and capped the wage bill to one of the lowest in the Championship. Not a model I'd like us to follow (the poundsavers model) but we may be forced to if we don't gain promotion (which looks unlikely).

Best option is to just not renew players contracts and replace with up-coming youngsters. It will gradually reduce our excessive wage bill. Selling a couple in Jan would help as well.

What I mean is worse offenders RIGHT NOW, this was in response to a post that argued there are many Championship clubs breaking FPP rules much worse than us. I don't think so.

I've looked into this situation in detail but I don't know of any worse offenders? I'd love to think we aren't the worst, but just can't find an example....

Really feel this is a storm in a teacup. The sooner the club starts paying back small monthly payments, the sooner this will blow over. The league is trying to enforce its rules, of which we are a part. What we need to do is show that we are willing to make some (albeit small) move in the right direction.

When contracts of high earners run-out, we need to release said players and invest in developing our youth. The problem is, this is a lot bigger than us. There are a lot of Championship clubs who have abided by FFP rules, and they are scrutinising our situation with interest. This is a question of ethics. Like it or not, we haven't played by the rules. But if we continue to dig into our trenches, we will end up being punished severely.

Small monthly payments and this will gradually fade away.

Best midfield in the Championship. Midfields not our issue. How many shots did we have last match? It drives me to despair that supporters thought Mackie and Sylla were Men of the Match. Wasteful strikers.

Think it is:

Smithies
Perch, Caulker, Onuoha, Robinson
Borysiuk, Luongo, Ngbakota, Lua Lua

Sylla,
Wszolek

Not in that formation though. Borysiuk tucking into a Defensive-midfield role.

Surely we could have done more to get him out on-loan?

Osayi Samuel is also one of the top four fastest players in the Championship, and the quickest winger across all squads. He's quick but faster than Jesse Lingard, Lukaku, Sanchez (Arsenal) and every midfielder at Chelsea? If he's really that fast...we have some signing.......

Thought Scowens and Mannings stats are really poor, especially when compared with other Championship squads.

Sorry if this has already been discussed but missed it if it has. Our squad is here:
