I've got Canada and Panama FFS so definitely up for the LFW sweepstake. I'll be supporting my missus' country, Colombia so looking forward to a few late nights round Elephant & Castle to watch their games in the Colombian bars - amazing atmosphere- got their WC top as a Christmas pressies off her daughter

Care home

As others have posted, start with the local council Adult Social care team for an assessment - if they assess their needs as too great for home care they will be able to give you some info on local ones - and you can also search on here https://www.cqc.org.uk/care-se and then read their inspection reports too

I was in Hammersmith for the weekend with the missus, as I usually am (she lives there) and they were everywhere- and again at victoria coach station this evening when I was heading back - and half of the coach back to Birmingham had Arsenal tops on too - bizarre! We actually watched the penalties last night with a crowd of Fulham fans through the window of the pub at the edge of Hammersmith bridge and they didn't seem too bothered. Mind you they are a bit wooden - we pass there every match day going for the 72 up to Shepherds Bush and I've always got my R's top or hat on and never had a peep out of them - a bit of banter, or even an occasional insult would be welcome- but nothing.

Addicted to Social Media
at 15:49 27 May 2026

Yes its definitely addictive - the algorithms are designed to produce little dopamine hits. I'm in recovery for other issues so I know I'm especially susceptible to it. I think it also pumps out extreme views on both sides of any contentious issue, like Gaza, immigration etc. which seems designed to divide us. I was on twitter a few years ago but sacked it off. I joined facebook about 18 months so I could join the group re-selling tickets and found myself constantly doom scrolling through the reels. Now we've got season tickets I've sacked it off too - and was fed up with the constant "sack the manager" stuff on the QPR facebook groups after every game we lost. I do look at this site a few times a day between meetings if I'm working from home - a bit more intelligent punditry and some of the random out of season topics like guitar playing and gardening! I do love the QPR podcasts but have noticed I get a bit obsessive about all the match previews and reviews (my rewired brain is still healing after nearly 9 years clean) and have noticed that my missus is able to switch off after a game until the next one - but I can live with an obsession with QPR podcasts - and I can still get things done around the house while I'm listening to them. I avoid social media like the plague these days though.

Villa fans
at 18:53 23 May 2026

To be fair yes they've got a decent stadium - missed a trick starting extending it last week and missing out on tens of thousands of fans paying to watch the game there on big screens. I think my deep seated animosity stems from the league cup final - think it was '77. My uncle took all the nephews (all Everton fans) to Wembley for the final, which was a draw. That was my first ever game - never thought then I would end up a Loftus Rd regular. Are we all Everton fans tomorrow hoping they smash Tottenham?

Villa fans

I think every other person in Birmingham was walking round with a Villa top on this evening. I was getting the train back from Telford where I work last night and there were hoards of them heading into the city to watch the game in various venues last night, and again this afternoon for the open top bus thing - usually lots of Wolves colours around Telford. Don't know if it's because Villa remind me of Man U, Chelsea and Tottenham, or I've got an unconscious bias against premiership teams (except Everton, my original team growing up on Merseyside), or I've just got a good connection with Birmingham City and West Brom friends up here who understand how tough our league is, but it was making me well grumpy today. Can't wait to be back down Loftus Rd after the summer break.

Ah Ok - good to know - relatively new on here, but will be on much more now I've sacked off Facebook. Some of grill places on Uxbridge Rd look great but are always rammed out after a game

Didn't think I'd hear anyone mention the Vine on here - not too far from me. Desi2 near Smethwick Galton Bridge is my favourite - great curry, always got a game on and good banter with the West Brom fans if they're playing at home- I'll be in there Sunday. Good place for a QPR fans meet up and a curry next season when we play them.

Season Ticket - Loyalty Window
at 17:11 15 May 2026

We had am email about 2 weeks ago and I've got ours - 2 new sales but we had tickets for the same 2 seats most home games during the season just gone so they weren't allocated to a season ticket holder and I did ring up a few weeks ago to double check we were on the waiting list and a lady in the box office said she could see we always bought tickets for the same seats and that they would be going on offer for anyone wanting season tickets. Not sure how it works but just happy we've got the 2 seats we wanted next season.

I had a listen to this today (have enjoyed this podcast through the year) - good honest summary of the season. I found another one called W12 Podcast that's got a great interview with Richard Kone too.

Season Ticket Renewals
at 20:29 5 May 2026

Me and my partner joined the waiting list a couple of months ago and I was told it would be end of June when we would hear something and then got an email today. The two seats in R block we have had a lot this last season were going so we took them- well excited! Not sure why they've gone out so early?

This article popped up on my facebook https://footballleagueworld.co

Its a bit wider than just getting a new goalie. I really hope we don't sell Madsen or Chair - and what if th club is offered decent money for Burrell or Kone?

QPR and Birmingham desperate to stop respective rots - Preview
at 13:21 12 Mar 2026

Sorry if I've missed this elsewhre amongst the threads - but what was going on btween Dunne and Poku, right in front of us, towards the end of the game. Looked like Dunne was telling Poku to go wide and he wasn't having any of it - thought Dunne was going to knowck him out at one point - wasn't a good look. To be fair Dunne bigged Poku up in his post match intrview (which I thought was a very honest interview BTW) but the incident was a symptom of the breakdown of discipline and morale on the pitch.

Fortunately for me it was just a short walk and bus jouney home last night but felt for the fans who had come up from London. I've been terrorised all morning by Blues friends and my only response is - well you can't be that good, it should have been 3-0 and your pre-game pyrotechnics are naff. I'm enough of an optimist not to fall into all the doom about us getting into the relegation dog fight but something seems very wrong at the moment.

Birmingham/Leicester Away on sale from today

Got my Birmingham tickets today - literally just down the road for me. Meeting some mates who are Blues season ticket holders for a curry before the game. A mutual friend who has never been to a game in his life wants to come so persuaded him to come in with the QPR fans and got him a ticket too!

I'd love one of those if I ever see one. I could always wear my new Colombia world cup top I got from my partners daughter for Christmas who is visting at the moment. We're taking her to the Wrexham game on saturday for a treat before she flies back on Sunday

I'll have a hell of a dilemna for those two games if we do make it upto the premiership in the next couple of years lol. Think I'd just dress in blue and white and keep quiet for 90 minutes
