Proper old school 'work ethic' band. Tour lots, promote their own material and do what they can to reduce costs to their fans. They normally do Southampton every couple of years. Caught them at Papillon this year and Joiners back around 2021. My mate trundled up to the Garage (Islington) a month or two back but I declined having seen them, and it being a bit far on that occasion.....
According to Amazon Music, my top five artist 'played' this year are:
1) W. H. Lung 2) James 3) Bodega 4) Home Front 5) The Holy
The new Home Front album is top drawer - fingers crossed they come over from Canada and do a few UK dates / gigs. Won't ever get to see The Holy now as they have split up (and even if they did a show would likely be in their home country - Finland).
He was probably referring to a young generation who live in Hampshire or Dorset and as yet, have no affiliation to a club through parents. When I was at school in the 80's I could name a couple of lads who went yo Dean Court regularly. Most were Saints fans by virtue of being in Divvie One. Naturally excluding those that were Scouse dud to winning everything.
Exactly this. I was there ten minutes early (13:50hrs) expecting to see even a small gathering - fcuk all was happening apart from a few tourist types having pics with Ted Bates. Wished I had of stayed in the pub.
Our fanbase are more interested in 'influencing' on Social Media (of what they influence is far beyond me) or frequenting The Dell bar and gulags. Funnily enough they were pumping. Even after the result I was hoping for something big / the catalyst, but nothing worthy of note.
If only we had the American system whereby you own a franchise and can move it there you want. I would shift the club up North where the population are out on the streets when their club us outside the Top 4
1) They command 'decent' money 2) They don't fancy managing an outfit with crâp owners / bosses 3) There might not be any 'decent' managers available 4) Budget constraints or direction the owners stipulate 5) Joining a basket case outfit
