Why were the Boro fans booing Chair? Is it for the rock throwing allegations or something else?

I agree, would love to see this.

Seems like a much promising strategy than our current approach.

Is It Chair or Cha-ear?

Here’s a clip of Ilias pronouncing his name as something like Cha-ear. (This was from the World Cup website, if I remember correctly.)

New Year's Resolution
at 18:14 9 Jan 2024

8-year-old son: One of my New Year's Resolutions is that QPR don't get relegated.

Me: You can’t really influence that, so I’m not sure it’s a resolution.

8-year-old: When I go to a match, I’m going to shout really loud, and I’m not going to ask for a shirt, so they have more money to feed themselves and get strong.

Encouraging stats from QPR Analytics
at 16:48 4 Jan 2024

Very interesting stat...

I think it does show we have been a bit unlucky recently. we haven't been great, but we not as bad when we had similar runs under Ainsworth.

Fingers crossed the defence stays tight, we get a few lucky breaks and we find a way to score a few goals.

yeah, it was just next to us. he looked really woozy and out of it and punch drunk. he was arguing with the physio to be allowed to play on. Chair put an arm round his shoulder and seemed to be telling him that he needed to stop.

hope he has a speedy recovery.

Things to love about Marti
at 10:57 2 Dec 2023

1. He can win without flogging our players to death. Amazing to get a win where we rested our best player for 45 mins, and we haven’t racked up exhaustion debt that means we’ll lose the next three.

2. Substitutions that work. What a delight to have two games where our manager out thinks his opposite number. Can’t remember the last time that happened at QPR.

3. Making the squad deeper. Bring new players through and suddenly the squad doesn’t feel quite so thin.

4. What a way with language. ‘Achieving not deserving’ is a great phrase. (Would be interested to know if it a translation from a phrase in Spanish or Swedish.)

Two swallows don’t make a summer and all that, but let’s savour the good times while they last…

You are a lucky man! Grab this opportunity with both hands.

I can't explain it (and I wouldn't have predicted it) but travelling the country to an away match with my kids is one of my favourite things ever (even when we lose). With kids there is a brilliant sense of adventure, a heightened sense of travelling into opposition territory.

Birmingham and Blackburn last year. Bristol two years ago. By conventional measures, crappy forgettable away losses. In my memory, magnificent days out that will live forever!

It's Warnock...
at 23:07 28 Oct 2023

Neil Warnock wants to make a return to Queens Park Rangers and is expected to replace Gareth Ainsworth.

Former Luton Town and Southampton manager Nathan Jones is also keen on the QPR job but it is understood that Warnock is likely to be appointed until the end of the season. An announcement is expected in the next few days.

Despite being 74, Warnock made it clear when he left Huddersfield Town that he wanted to continue in management and carry on with a career that started in 1980 with Gainsborough Trinity.

If he is appointed it will be Warnock’s third spell in charge of QPR having taken them into the Premier League, for the first time in 15 years, in 2011 only to be sacked the following January after a change of ownership and with the team struggling.

Warnock then returned to QPR as caretaker manager in Nov 2015, after being dismissed by Crystal Palace and before Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was appointed. He then returned to be manager of Rotherham United.

Warnock oversaw Huddersfield’s impressive escape from relegation from the Championship last season, his second spell at the club, before signing a new one-year deal but left in September and was replaced by Darren Moore.

When he left Warnock, who has previously retired, suggested he want to carry on with another club. Now it appears that opportunity has come.

Ainsworth was dismissed after a sixth straight defeat left QPR 23rd in the Championship, six points from safety, with the decision appearing inevitable for some time.

Other candidates such as former Birmingham City manager John Eustace have been ruled out with Warnock the choice.

Ainsworth, the former QPR winger was only appointed in February after 11 years at Wycombe Wanderers and won only five of his 28 games. He saw his side beaten 2-1 at home by Leicester City on Saturday. His assistant, Richard Dobson, has also departed.

Lee Hoos, QPR’s chief executive, said: “Making a call such as this is never easy, and it is even more difficult when you have such respect on both a personal and professional level for the individuals concerned – which we all do for Gareth and Richard.

“Many supporters have told me in recent months that they have never wanted someone to succeed more than Gareth, which is an indication of the fondness everyone associated with QPR has for him. Unfortunately, results this season haven’t gone the way we all wanted and we feel a change is necessary.

“We understand the importance of appointing a new head coach quickly and an announcement on this will follow in the coming days.”

I thought I might just catch you up with some 'bellomatic family experiences' in the midst of this diabolical run.

If you think it's bad for us adults, imagine what it is like for the 10 year old who has only seen one win in a year - that's a lifetime! Or for the 13 year old who missed the Watford game. They really can't imagine anything but QPR losing.

Here's how it is panning out:

Coventry - the kids mounted a mini-rebellion saying why do we always lose and why do we support QPR and, horror of horrors, can we support Arsenal. I had a 'good feeling' and managed to drag them along. That worked out well.

Blackburn - something snapped in me in the week before the game. I couldn't face another loss. However, this created some reverse psychology effect on the kids, who became v keen.

WBA - I couldn't face this, although the kids wanted to go as a half term treat. Went to Park Royal Ten Pin instead. Glad about that decision.

Leicester - kids are deliriously excited about the prospect of being destroyed by Jamie Vardy. Not sure what is going on here, psychologically speaking, but at least they are keen to go, I guess.
