Terriers steamroller woeful Rangers — Report
at 15:25:11

Aren't those pre-appointment comments from fans of Warburton's previous clubs coming home now ? No plan B; sticks to favoured players; ignores defence etc etc I hate the thought of changing managers again for all the obvious reasons but surely Ferdinand and Hoos must give Warburton some sort of ultimatum - sort the defence out now and achieve X clean sheets in the next 10 games or you're out. It's astonishing that we have to score twice to get one point and three times or more to get three, when we start with one point. 110 goals concedd in 68 games tells the whole story.

It’s all the same, only the names will change - Report
at 14:07:18

The finger points firmly at MW and his coaches. The defensive coach must go - 64 goals against at 2 a game is ridiculous. Same again Saturday at the disorganised corner. Sir Less needs to wag the finger at MW on the importance of preparing the team properly and motivating them before the match instead of at half-time. The players are more than adequate - they just don't seem to be organised by the manager and coaches. A few more defeats and we'll be looking at League One.

The return of flat February - Knee Jerks
at 15:38:13

I totally agree with 'Patience.' Maybe what negatively energises fans is the apparent lack of development with what is, after all, a squad of decent players, some quite exceptional. Yet, 30 matches in to the season we are still seeing the same failings in the team. Saturday was 18 shots with just one on target and that after about 80 minutes. Match after match we see crosses flying in and set pieces poorly defended. It's not unreasonable to expect MW and his coaches to have at least improved both these aspects of the team by now. I'm content that the club is in transition and on a long-term trajectory but at least get the basics right.

Cup heartbreak - Knee Jerks
at 16:46:09

I - almost - agree with your view on team selection, but you hit the nail on the head when writing "I'm happy to be critical of MW for our team's inability to defend set pieces this season - that stuff could and should be worked on in training" More than half way through the season and we're still shipping two goals in almost every match. What the hell are the coaching staff doing ? MW is solely focused on creating chances. It's not much good being forced to create enough chances in almost every match to notch a minimum of three goals
to get some points.

QPR perseverance eventually downs Bolton — Report
at 12:01:46

Good report - thanks. You hit the nail on the head - twice - on Washington. "being always one beat too late for everything" and "full of hard work and running, but always on his heels - he just doesn't seem to have the anticipation needed." When is Holloway going to see the opportunity to drop Washington and get one of the young kids in his place now we are (relatively) safe ? It took him 80 minutes on Saturday when he should have made the decision before the game.

I wasn't at the game, but surely this is a case of Holloway conceding the match before it began by picking the wrong team to start."a back eight with Freeman and Washington somewhere over the horizon."

Worrying signs and muddled thinking - Knee Jerks
at 17:34:50

Totally agree with FrustratedQPR. Mackie and Washington are not up to Championship football - no ball skills and, in Washington's case no positional sense or shooting ability. Sylla should start and Ngbokoto deserves a run in his proper position as a striker alongside him. Furlong and Wheeler on the right (sorry Wszolek - bench); Scowen holding; Freeman pushing balls through the middle and Bidwell and Luongo up the left with Hall and Robinson in the centre of defence. Sorry Ned, you're mostly great but with suicidal lapses. Lynch is weak on position and passing. Baptiste is a good sub with Manning, and a couple of youngsters along with Smith as an option. Too many Holloway choices out of position. Play to the strengths of the squad - and buy another striker in January.

Ledesma tolls an ominous pre-Burnley bell — full match preview
at 12:40:40

Paladini is a disastrous judge of footballers. The sooner he is kicked out of Rangers the better. The very thought that he might force Warnock - and he might - to take on one of his third-rate rubbish players - and Ledesma is third-rate - is enough to push Rangers out of promotion and lose Warnock at the same time. He may have brought in Briatore (yeah, thanks) but Paladini is the millstone round Rangers neck. Warnock must prevail on Monday.

This Week - Christmas mission accomplished, now write-off the cup
at 07:38:51

Quite agree on resting the team this Saturday. The Sky thing is really a blow for the long travellers like me. The irony is that the more successful the team, the less I can get to the matches without complicated stop-overs and considerable expense. It already costs me £100 a match. So it looks as though promotion to the Premiership will see the end of me attending games through re-scheduling; vastly increased ticket price; increased train fares and general exhaustion. Some 'reward' for 36 years support although I wouldn't have the team anywhere else. The supreme irony is that I will almost certainly have to grit my teeth and pay the Murdoch shilling to get to see the team in the Premiership. Ho hum. Come on you Rs !

Patched up QPR sweep aside Preston to regain top spot — full match report
at 21:30:53

'This game was one of the water stops' - brilliant analogy. Agreed with every single word of a comprehensive report, always worth looking forward to after a game. Preston were the worst visiting team in living memory. I left Loftus Road feeling exuberant. Rangers were right on the money despite absentees.

This Week — The worst part of being top is there’s only one way to go
at 07:24:07

Sound reasoning, Clive, and very true. This feeling of immense pride at a very good team after maybe 25 years of scrapping around, is great, and I would certainly drop to my knees and bow if Warnock cycled past in Richmond Park. But even the most raucous fans are exercising their right to comment about the team - that too is part of the fun of it all - they're not necessarily writing off Warnock and the team, just being a little less articulate than you. Even you suggest Smith coming in for a start, which I also suggested before the Bristol game. And I agree that I wasn't unhappy that he didn't start because I trust Warnock to know who's going to do the job for him. Taraabt is the ultimate enigma, but, hey, we're doing OK.

Spot of luck for Rangers in Swansea stalemate — full match report
at 10:06:41

Listened to the game on Radio London and your excellent report brought the match alive. Agree that the lack of goals is beginning to be a concern but we have played three of the pressing teams in the last four games. Maybe Smith for Ephraim for a game or two might freshen things up, much as I admire Ephraim this season. More worrying is the re-emergence of Briatore now things are going well and the comment from Ecclestone that, although he apparently couldn't give a toss, he might be 'more involved soon.' Now we're doing well one can almost see the pound signs in Briatore's eyes as he salivates over the possibility of 'running' a Premiership club. Already he is undermining Warnock with his preposterous mooting of Lippi - an ageing, recently failed Italian - as manager. Presumably this is the downside of Rangers' success - Briatore sees an opportunity to make mischief and push up the price of his shares. Please, Mr Mittal..................

Couldn't agree more about the media coverage. BBC seems fixated with Cardiff and Derby. And where are the fans at Loftus Road ? Couldn't be a better team to watch and yet numbers are creeping up. Second lowest gate of the day on Saturday in the Championship
