Frey ties up cliffhanger on home debut – Report
at 11:01:24

Always love the writing, and it's often the prose, rather than the jokes, that make me smile. "Two teams, deeply flawed, going to win, playing attractive and attacking football, while constantly stepping on rakes"

Scorching first half enough to see through QPR's latest City win - Report

Northern - "There is now, apparently, a bot that exists that can take every porn video you’ve watched for the last ten years, calibrate your tastes, and produce the perfect 30 minute film for you."

Can you source this!? Would love to know more. Sounds odd I know, but I assure my interest is professional!

What have we learned so far? — Analysis
at 16:04:52

Enjoyable read. Only thing I'd add is I saw the 4321 become a 4312 at times, and in the most recent game (not covered by this?) it was very much a 4231.

It's my impression that in the first games opponents have made easy progress up our flanks as it takes time for the widest midfielder to get out to the ball, and our fullback has held their position. While that's galling to watch, it may be working defensively to some extent as I can't recall goals being conceded from there yet.

Out of the darkness cometh light - Report
at 12:34:18

Watching the goals just now, just wanted to add the thought that Moses could have done better for their second, had he not let their two runners get inside him. Had he positioned better I tihnk he could have increased his chances of winning that header / stopping them get a good header. Thanks for the report. Essential reading as always.

Chair's redemption double dose gets QPR back on the horse - Report
at 20:44:00

Great report as always thank you.

From my seat it was definitely 442 first half with Barbet sitting back and Willock left and chair right, both narrow. And 3412 second with Willock left wing back and Ilias behind the front two.

The perks of being a QPR fan - Report
at 00:31:08

Phenomenal report, thank you. Many great lines and images, but I want to pick out 'like an angry Toby Jug' because it's what I've always thought about our Neil, but never knew I did, nor quite managed to put it into words, and you've crystalised it right there.

McClaren hanging by a thread after Bolton debacle — Report
at 14:49:59

Hemed has been gash up to now, but I actually thought he was better yesterday. He won some headers and held it up a few times and even sprinted which I haven't seen before. I think he hasn't been fully fit and was brought back too early (obviously one of SM's faves). This was by no means a good performance, but I didn't think it was especially worse than anyone else's this time. Thanks as ever for the report.

Boredom in its purest form — Report
at 22:32:41

I mistakenly went to a thing at the Barbican afterwards in which a squeaky man in tight trousers played music composed by a computer on a harpsichord in an attempt to bring to life Douglas Hofstadt's concept of 'strange loops' with which I was already well aware having seen a long ball headed back into midfield, passed back to a centreback or keeper and hoofed up the middle again at least 288 times in 96 minutes. In exchange for these long-booked pleasures I endured four days of digs and snide remarks from the love of my life who had wanted to sup prosecco surrounded by Damien Hirst skulls (Sheff W?) and Tracey Emin neon that day rather than look after our children. I've had better Saturdays.

Out with the old, in with another new era — preview

Thanks for linking the interview with Hoos.

This was notable: 'For me recruitment is probably as much about who you don’t bring in rather than who you do bring in because the easiest thing in the world to do is to sign a player and the hardest thing in the world to do is to get rid of them!”'

Also notable how Burnley have had such a small squad for so long, which might suggest his sports science investment has paid off in reducing injuries.
