The temptation to declare and having 30 mins at the Aussies with the new ball under lights must have been massive - however those last 61 runs in no time at all has swung the game back in England's favour. If we can somehow bat for another hour in the morning - especially see out the 6 overs left with the old ball and put on another 20-30 runs we have a great chance of levelling the series.
You dont need or want that type of player these days? You can't play overly physical - it will be given as a foul and if you carry on you'll just get sent off.
Rodney had one of his 'quiet' games yesterday so that didn't help and no matter what Gilmour said we are still turning down shooting opportunities in and around the box. Barlow had one where he tried a fancy flick to Dieseruvwe when he had space to shoot and Gilmour running onto a ball on the edge of the area should've shot but tried a really difficult one two and it came to nothing.
Use the frost covers. Those are different to the waterproof covers bundled up infront of the Wilbutts. Those waterproof covers aren't good for the longterm health of the pitch.
Fantastic win and new keeper looked solid enough. Imperative we beat Southend next Saturday now. York and Carlisle dont play and York don't play again till the day after we play Alty.
Yes - if miraculously we are still top of the league going into that last game if we need 3 points I'm not sure I could cope with that disappointment. It would be Spennymoor & Southend x100.
The forecast for tomorrow is ok - after that it looks like rain every day for the foreseeable future putting in doubt both home league games coming up. I can't see any of the other clubs having any issues with us playing away so we can sort out the pitch.
