Just been in to the ticket office and as always excellent service. They cleared up my query about digital tickets for kids. An adult can have multiple tickets linked to their account. |

We cannot offer them two year deals as the academy will not be allowed to run in its current form if we are not promoted this season. I wonder if some who may have been offered academy terms may get professional deals? |

Mitchell, Rodney and Henderson all missing chances that they should have put away. If we had played with a bit of drive and tempo we could have had a hatful. |

Where does it say that? It is not currently on the official site or on the X feed. |

The previous owner sold up a while ago and in my opinion the quality has suffered as a result. |

In the second half we played the ball into Rodney's chest/feet and it more often or not stuck and allowed us to build. I am not sure why we do not do it more. An awful minute for Mitchell turned the game. He should have scored after a lovely move and then he gave the ref a decision to make. Hartlepool knew what they were doing surrounding him and the player who was 'fouled' rolling around like he had broken his leg. Not a great performance but we kept going. We look so much better when we move the ball quicker and try and feed Hayes. |

Sinclair started the season really well, but has struggled to retain form after his first injury layoff, which then became a second long term injury. Gordon is steady and again if terms are reasonable that is a decent shout. |

I think we have the following under contract for next season: Ferguson Nevett Gilmour East Uchegbulam Mitchell I suspect Nevett will be sold in the summer so we have a decent centre midfield pairing and not much else. Hopefully a bit of financial certainty and a decent budget will allow for earlier and better recruitment. Of the players out of contract I would be looking to sign Heyes (if only!) and maybe Rodney and John if the terms were reasonable. [Post edited 27 Mar 7:37]

At the Fans' Forum Jim mentioned that due to his late appointment and uncertainty over the budget that he was behind in terms of recruitment and missed out on a number of targets. He has also been saddled with higher earning players who were still under contract which took up a chunk of the wage budget. I think we have Nevett, East, Gilmour, Mitchell and Jez under contract for next season which allows scope for change. A lot will depend on what budget is available, but with Chesterfield going up and two more financially challenged teams likely to come down we may have a better chance at promotion next year, but things need to settle down off the pitch and we need some managerial stability. |

Too many self inflicted wounds. Brookes has the ball and could throw it to Jez. No a little chip kick to Mitchell is lost and they end up scoring from a corner not long after. Second goal not sure why he is parrying the cross, which looked easy enough to catch. He could have left the ball to go across the face. After the early goal we should have pushed on and put the game to bed but we didn't. Even after Mather's goal I thought we would win but Rodney blazed over after a brilliant run. They were awful but we made them look good at times. We are too slow and do not use Hayes enough. |

Three top class spinners on their home turf was always going to be a battle. Fair play to Bashir, Hartley and Ahmed who gave it a good go. Whilst stating the obvious Bairstow and Stokes did not contribute enough runs. Looking forward I suspect Brook will come back in for Bairstow and then we need to rebuild the seam attack. Home tests againts the West Indies and Sri Lanka are the ideal opportunity to do so. After a promising start Robinson does not look up to the demands physically. Potts had a good A tour to India and Atkinson is reasonably quick. Hopefully a few others will step up early in the domestic season. I am not sure what we have to gain from playing Woakes and Wood will not play all six tests. Jimmy could potentially retire after the Old Trafford test as the second highest wicket taker in test cricket. |

Right wing back. Good half and we could/should be 5 up. Not sure how Mitchell missed either header, especially his first. We need to keep pushing as there are more goals here. |

It's a four way and carnage at that was after 7 last night. Avoid that area like the plague if you can. It would probably be better going past Asda and up Spotland Road. |

Excellent test by Jimmy. Kept it tight and chipped in with key wickets. I wonder if he can get 700 test wickets by the end of the tour? A decent start but a long chase. Someone needs to score big and we need to get the bulk of the runs tomorrow. |

It will be interesting what India do to replace Rahul and Jajeda who are two key players. Jimmy you have two overs with the new ball to get some wickets! I'm not sure what shock factor he will bring but maybe able to tie up an end with the older ball. |

What a turnaround. After looking out of it after day two, two excellent days. A statement innings by Pope and Hartley from his first ball in test cricket going for 6 to getting 7 wickets and two valuable contributions with the bat. Isn't test cricket great. |

I got round to watching the Chiefs versus Bills game last night. I thought Allen played well, but it comes down to fine margins, although the Hardman fumble made the game closer that it could have been. The Bills have under invested at the WR position and Diggs' contract is starting to look not great value for money as his influence tails off. Knox and Kincaid are two steady tight ends and Cook looks promising. One of the problems with being a consistent play off team is that they do not pick early enough to get one of the elite WRs who usually go early in the draft. By picks in the late 20s and through the second round the WRs who are available are a bit more hit and miss. For every Metcalfe their is a Harry. For the Chief Rice looks a better pick in the second round than Hardman was. Shakir is a good third option, but with Allen on a big contract it is difficult to go out and sign someone such as Higgins. Milano has been a massive miss for the Bills. He is an excellent, alround line backer who can cover. The Chiefs pick on Klein all game. |
