There are plenty of cases of players who changed positions and delivered or even improved—the most recent example I can think of is Koundé. But in the worst-case scenario, a bad game or a tough test that they can't handle psychologically can really affect a player, especially when they're doing so well in a new league. It’s a tricky decision. Slotting Walsh in out wide could be risky given how outstanding he’s been at centre-back; having a bad game on the wing might knock his confidence, or we could end up struggling through the middle of defense in his absence. Having said that, I think the Dutchman has more than enough quality to cover that move without any issues—or perhaps even Parente could play at full-back. It’ll be interesting to see what Matos manages to pull off

To be honest, my lack of knowledge regarding many things about the club—being from Mexico and not having visited the stadium yet—keeps me looking at this with a somewhat biased view. But judging by the comments on this post, it seems like great news. From what I understand in the statement, it’s a covered fan zone outside the stadium; over here in Mexico, there isn't really a stadium that has something like that. Generally, the bars or restaurants in the best stadiums are located inside the venue, while the older stadiums only have beer sales at the seats and small stalls around the perimeter. Likewise, very few teams have official club shops at their stadiums—you usually have to go to shopping malls instead. But without a doubt, it’s a pleasure to see them keep investing in the team. Come on you Swans!

Honestly, I think the club will look to buy the stadium first before even considering expanding it. Without a doubt, it’s an amazing project—even I’ve designed it on Gemini, haha! My biggest fear is if this beautiful team gets promoted to the Premier League and I travel to Wales, I won't be able to get a ticket for a match. So my heart says I hope to go soon, but if they go up and I can't snag a ticket, I'll still be happy just to see them back in the big time

If you ask me, all of these are proper Ben Davies blood: Ben Cabango, Connor Roberts, Josh Sheehan, Liam Cullen, Cameron Congreve, Dan James. But why didn't Oli Cooper and Joe Rodon make the cut?
It was a good match, plenty of positives but also quite a bit to ponder. I think my view boils down to two main factors: firstly, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a Burnley side look that poor, and no doubt the mistake for the first goal really weighed heavily on them; and secondly, how a team not currently at their best managed to score against us and create so much danger. Definitely, Matos needs to make a big decision regarding his two centre-backs. Personally, I feel much more comfortable with Lissah and Welsh, though I understand he uses Filip as cover for Key, but defensively I really hope we can work on that better during this international break. As for the rest of the players, I think they did well—nothing too impressive when taking the opponent as a benchmark, but it’s good to see them running hard at home with real desire. I liked Yeo; he pulled off a clever backheel that broke the mould, and if he does that more often, it changes the somewhat linear game we usually play. I'm dying to see Monga!
Thanks for bringing up Montero—when Swansea City signed him I was thrilled because I used to watch him play regularly for Monarcas over in Mexico. But honestly, the quality of wingers we used to have was always a cut above the current lot. Take Barrow, for instance, or Emnes who even played in that position, Narsingh, and I could even say McKay did a better job. Even Paterson used to drift out wide. Ever since the 22/23 season, we’ve completely forgotten what it's like to have proper 1v1 wingers of real quality
I honestly reckon the whole deal with Monga is more about paperwork than wondering whether he has the necessary standard, because he clearly already has that—he played 921 minutes in the Championship last season. Now, I can understand Matos and his favorites, but how long has it been since we had a winger who actually wins a 1v1? None of the wingers we currently have possess that quality; in fact, statistically, Inoussa was the one who had the most successful dribbles last campaign. No matter how collectively you play the Swansea Way, if we create nothing from the wide areas, it’s completely useless. We’ve forgotten the Dyers, the Sinclairs, the Pablo Hernándezes, the Waynes... I think the last decent winger we had who made a real difference was Daniel James
After several matches, the most glaring criticism for Matos is our lack of options from set pieces—we create absolutely nothing, not even from corners. What’s going on? None of our set-piece takers have put in a decent ball in any of the games. Against Wrexham we didn't even lay a glove on them, and today Eustáquio lumped a terrible, pointless ball into the box
We knew it was going to be a tough match, but it’s clear we’ve improved. At times it looked like the team would give us even more—just when we were playing our best, their second goal went in, and right when we thought we could grab an equalizer, they scored their third. I reckon it was a great test of the standard we need to reach if we want to compete at the top end of the table, and above all, their wingers are far superior to ours. Those are the exact type of players we need; hopefully, the ones we have now can step up to that level.
Excellent summary—clear, punchy, but without unnecessary drama. Personally, I'm just ecstatic; I can't remember the last time I was able to watch a match with my dad on the living room TV. It's usually really tough to watch my Swansea City over here in Mexico, and I always end up having to watch games on a tablet or phone through betting site streams. So, win, lose, or draw, I was just incredibly happy.
As for the match itself, for the first 30 minutes I felt like I was watching Mexico play some Central American side like Haiti. Seriously, is this the team that spent over 30 million? I think we made them look ordinary; the Jacks completely dominated and we were winning the ball back in seconds. While keeping that kind of intensity up for the whole 90 minutes is impossible, the opposition improved in the second half and, sure, they were more dangerous than us. From my perspective, Widell offered pretty much nothing; Just was full of energy but without contributing anything all that major, and Eom was back to that normal level where he gives away a lot of simple passes and controls. Key was tireless, but he always makes me nervous when defending, while Lissah and Welsh—wow, they are really stepping up.
I think the only thing that still leaves me with doubts is those wingers we've been lacking for a long time now—explosive, fast, daring, and capable of breaking open a game like that. My faith is pinned on Jeremy Monga to bring those qualities, but when you dominate possession so much and the lads up top lack that extra bit of daring, it's tough. Still, I'm delighted that we're up there near the top of the table and that the million-pound team couldn't manage to beat Swansea

If Vipotnik goes for 20 million or more, along with Bianchini and maybe one other sale, but we get the deal done for this young lad, I'll be absolutely delighted. This young talent looks top quality
I’m absolutely loving this end to the transfer window—Jeremy Monga gets me really excited, he reminded me so much of Scott Sinclair when he arrived all those years ago. I know age can sometimes be a talking point, but that pace he has, which I’ve just been watching on video clips, can be exploited so well. If this signing gets done, we get a solid fee for Vipotnik, and Bianchini moves on, this window would be a solid 10 out of 10 for me. As for Ronald and Inoussa, to be honest I’m not sure if it’s the right time for them to leave—especially Ino—but we’ll have to wait and see what happens. By the way, folks, why did we let Popham go? And Ojetoro? I thought they were both promising players, especially the former—I would’ve thought that young centre-back could have saved us bringing in another signing
