Really pleased for him and the release of pressure should be great this week.
Got to follow this up with another solid week, doesn’t have to be swashbuckling wins but proper organised hard grafting performances will do.

Gutted I couldn’t get to see it today so looking forward to next game now

Feels like a huge win. Hopefully there’s confidence and some belief in the manager to be gained as well as ‘just’ the 3 points, delighted

I can’t permutate anything else Terry?
Nothing wrong with 442 with some of the team but I just don’t see how you cover the obvious weak players with it?
Glad to see Armstrong start and if it frees up Ilias and Smyth to feed the hardworking front two then it would be great, Ossie and Dozzell will be massively exposed though so if they can even put in a 6/10 performance would be a start if those front 4 put in 7s at least.

Hoping for a solid well organised display so 0-0 would keep me happy and then we would have something to build from.
GA has got to get some of the players to believe in him and clean sheets is about the only way I think.
5 at the back and Sam Field protecting the front of defence and we can start from there

Prediction is probably 2-0 unfortunately

Get another good CB in to enable a 3 at the back and the last thing we need to do is sell Field who should sit in front of them.
Finance dictates so much but purely on football terms there’s no way that he should leave to facilitate a CB

Being fit and able to play is key here but to me this is the equivalent of adding two players to Saturdays team, he’ll replace Gubbins and if he’s as organised as I think he is then he will make at least one of his fellow defenders better straight away as well.
Exactly what we needed but bloody hell he needs to avoid injury, Jimmy Dunne for me is a more than decent player but when he has anything to think about other than ‘just playing’ he doesn’t inspire me, could be that when he gets back in that Cook will help him massively as well.
I’m happy with this, but let’s get him on the pitch! Actually a half match fit organiser would improve Saturdays team

I don’t like the idea of it but tbh GA should not be in the job next week. Big problem is that it doesn’t appear that there is anyone on the staff who could put out an improved team, at least we did have Eustace previously, can’t see that it’s fair to lumber this on someone to damage their reputation.
Need to get a replacement in straight away and in all honesty who could that be without the usual protracted process?

He had ages to amble into position and pick his spot. Zero pressure.
We are better this half but I think it’s Watford easing off subconsciously, the difference to the two teams out of possession is stark, they’re in shape and tight whereas our defensive lines are all over the place and huge spaces

Any manager at this level should have the ability to look at his squad and come up with some sort of plan, this had to be a 4-5-1 playing defensively and seeing what Watford had about them, stay in the block at all times and only become adventurous later in the game, all these massive gaps and lack of pressure is mind bogglingly bad.
Doesn’t really look like we’ve changed anything other than a couple of faces

We’re frighteningly bad at the back and defenders so hesitant, Brooklyn correct in saying we’re sitting far too deep so midfielders scared to press up so they’re chucking free balls into dangerous areas. The challenge for that headed goal was embarrassing with a timid leg dangled in.
There absolutely is no structure, Watford are not a great team but our tactics are basically only going to work against a team who also give away easy possession and it just becomes an open free for all, there won’t be too many teams like that unfortunately

That is true and I know that comes from the sidelines but an experienced head at the back keeps some shape. That goal was terrible as everyone sat off with no pressure on the ball, it isn’t looking good

Going forward has been ‘ok’ but we do look very fragile at the back. There’s no doubt this team needs a back 4 leader and organiser.

Can’t see too much to be optimistic about but will celebrate a draw if we can scratch that with some top performances from key players

This might help explain it?
I can’t tell the difference between the top and bottom rows, basically identical.

Being colourblind it was a good choice of kit, albeit the red and blue are very distinct to normal vision people they are very close in shade so to us who struggle to distinguish, then mixed in with so much white it would have been almost impossible.
There are guidelines for clubs to work to but seem to ignore them a lot, very glad they chose to follow them yesterday.
1 in 12 men are colourblind so at least 2 players on the pitch could be affected and 200 of the away support so it’s not a tiny minority they’re accommodating

We survive to fight another 0-1 scrap again!

Onwards and upwards, let’s hope he can get his enthusiasm working and there’s a clear football plan to come.

8 pts from last 15, pro rata over would give us a play off place. See how easy it is to get excited by his enthusiasm Willock!
