They could easily have been wins, too.

I think Ipswich might win it. They probably have more strength in depth.

We're not really quite good enough to get in the play-offs, but even so, that's not really the point for me, which is we're not good enough to win them.

Obviously the higher we finish the better, but there's almost no practical difference (the additional income is not much) between finishing seventh and losing the playoffs.

Charlton crowd issues

This shouldn't be happening getting on for 40 years after Hillsborough.

Complaints should go to the club with a copy to the local authority and the Sports Ground Safety Authority.

Does anyone want to see close ups of anyone's unappealing personal habits or nervous tics? I certainly don't. So why are they so keen to show it?

The truth is we're actually in a slump. Since the Leicester game we've won two from the last nine, it's just not as dire as our usual slumps because we've drawn four of them. But it's still not great and we can't put together two good results in a row.

Another famous 0-0. We shall never speak of this again.

Kolli on. Would have liked Mbengue for the tiring Edwards too.

If the team is phased they should be electric.

When Burrell is back, are we starting with him and Kone up top
at 16:04 5 Feb 2026

Yeah, not a problem, Kone will be injured or in desperate need of a rest by the time Burrell is back, and if the latter is still on crutches, that's not going to be soon.

Brilliant idea. Although if you take it to its logical conclusion, the players and managers in this closed loop will get older and older and eventually the games will be walking football.

No way, man. We can't buy direct from Peterborough as they always pull our pants down. So now we have to wait until they've gone somewhere else.

Also in R block with an excellent view. I thought he'd flicked it but couldn't really figure out how. Ridiculous goal.

How has Varane has been keeping Field out of the team when he's not started since Varane was injured?

Regardless of whether you rate him or not, it makes no sense for either him or the club to stay here as a bit part player. I'd be very surprised if he plays for QPR again.

Dembele and Obikwu out for Charlton game

I'd go further: all sharp objects to be removed from the training ground and players must in no circumstances be permitted to use stairs. Goal posts to be clad in scaffold foam.

Thus far we've avoided a Kevin Beattie style self-inflicted injury, but how long can that luck last?

(from Wikipedia)

"The 1976–77 season started well for Ipswich with victories over Liverpool and Manchester United. Ipswich then achieved a club record-equalling 7–0 win over West Bromwich Albion: the Albion goalkeeper John Osborne said of Beattie's long-range goal that he regarded himself as fortunate he had not touched it as it would have knocked his hand off.[35] Beattie's season was prematurely curtailed by a self-inflicted injury:[36] stoking a bonfire at his home, he decided to add petrol; the ensuing flare-up gave him serious burns to his face and neck,[37] leading to him missing six matches.[16] Before the injury, Ipswich were challenging for the league title, but, in Beattie's absence, the side lost four of their last six matches and missed out on winning the championship by five points."
