Where are the Coal Mines

At the risk of coming over all stainrod, when you sack off winnable games against Pompey and West Brom to focus on home games v Norwich and Sheff Wed and then get trounced by Norwich, you are rather making a rod for your own back.

Unfortunately Saito was quite a bit more than £3m.

I have a bit of sympathy for Varane on that front as the club have thrown him completely under the bus by leaking out to friendly journos that we had rejected £5m+ for him - even with all add-ons and a 2x multiplier during the Chinese whispers it was nowhere near £5m - they’ve built him up as the new great white hope to ‘save’ us with a profitable sale.

Unfortunately when you’ve spent a lot of money paying PR firms to call you ‘the Lionel Messi of football boardrooms’ and the football on the pitch is crap, the lies off the pitch have to become incrementally bigger to keep the plates spinning, and there is a very big and painful meeting of plate and floor coming up in the not too distant future.

Edwards was/is the last of the Eze money. The deal to sign him has been agreed since September, its note just a case of if he is the panacea in January or they use that money on another striker perhaps to get the twitterati frothing.

Regardless, the once in a generation cash input was blown on *this* lower mid table squad.

It’s typical social media nonsense putting 2&2 and getting 5.

Of course we would like Frey to leave but he’s tied down for several more years and they did that to bring his wage to a manageable level. He’s going nowhere.

Of course we would like to get rid of Nardi, but he refused to leave in the summer and will see out his generous deal until the summer.

Of course we will look to sell Smyth for a few quid if he refuses to sign a new deal rather than let him walk for free, but he won’t want to leave.

Kolli & Morgan are still the two most likely to leave in January.

We are neither going up nor down so he should be playing every week and learning on the job with RND filling in on 3 game weeks.

Horrendously mismanaged as per usual from this leadership.

The loaner can’t recall a player on a season long loan without the approval of the loanee.

The Ligue 1 deal that fell through was Kolli. They were also pushing hard to get Morgan out on loan at the end of the window.

I mean what can he say really - ‘the CEO and his best mate the DOF don’t want me to play the kid and they’ve ruled him out until January when they can try and get rid of him’.

The honesty of course would be great, but not exactly conducive to a good relationship with his bosses.

Having an uncompetitive second car doesn’t help Verstappen as it means he has nobody to take points off competitors. It’s why Red Bull tried to get Norris a few years ago to be his wing man.

As Newey and Wache have both said, they don’t build a car for Verstappen, they build a car to go as fast as possible which often means a car that’s hard to drive and harder to balance. Verstappen is just an alien in his ability to drive around issues.

Not much to say but the obvious - Verstappen is miles and miles away the best on the grid and had no right being so close to the McLareen cars.

One of the weakest F1 champions since Keke in the 70s.

Wait, Australia professionally saw out the dead daytime session and put England in to skittle themselves in the twilight?

Literally nobody could’ve seen that coming…

There’s lots of things we *should* do… Margot Robbie *should* ditch her husband and marry me instead but here we are.

In reality they’ll stall until twilight, put us in and have us 6/7 down by close.

The Aussies are professional enough to just see out the daytime tomorrow and put us in at twilight to get skittles out for under 150.

It’s quite embarrassing that Australia are going to comfortably 5-0 this series not because they’re some wonder team, but because they’re simply professional enough to do the job they’re paid for instead of wildly swinging at every ball and trying to convince everyone they’re having so much fun doing it.
