Ah man I think that fire was in the White City community centre on New Zealand Way where the LSA used to be on a match day .
Not certain but the news said it was in a ‘pavilion’. |

Terrible fire yards from LR this evening .
100 firefighters . Sadly 3 people passed away and it’s now a crime scene.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing.
Maybe I don’t understand which isn’t unusual, but why do we need massive exposure of our kits?
We are the ONLY people who actually give a sht what our kits look like
As mentioned, just announce our kits as normal for god sake .

Been reading this thread from afar as another Marti thread seems slightly tiresome although the OP and link was interesting enough .
Everyone is now entrenched in their own view and side (apart from one person) that nothing said here now will change anybody’s mind.
Good luck to Marti. Stitched up good and proper and not my words , the words of a very very senior club official .
Good luck to Julien in the coming season . Fully behind him of course, which also doesn’t mean I can’t question his decision making or tactics of whatever . That’s every fans right .
And just to clarify , that’s exactly what the club/ CEO/ etc via people like Mr Winton want you to do regarding THER choices and decisions .
Just bear it in mind.
Oh and Furlong was sacked halfway through his breakfast by the way. That’s not conjecture.
As I’ve always said , believe what you want to believe .
But keep the mind open to what certain folk are capable of .
Other than that, let’s hope we do progress next season .
We all deserve it no matter what you believe or think . |

Great post Paddy and great point made.
I do wonder if anything we do is really thought through or considered.
I also understand the ‘Guinness shirt’ argument earlier in the thread .
But it’s of a time. No one buys that shirt for the sponsor , they buy it for the quality of football of the era and with or without the sponsor , it’s possibly the best football kit ever made .
The thing I’m uncomfortable with about the betting / casino sponsors of today and the last few years is the climate we live in where , speaking personally and I’d imagine for a great deal of people, living day to day is so difficult with cost of living etc , that having a shirt sponsor today that ultimately could drive individuals and families into terrible financial trouble doesn’t sit right.
However , I’m a hypocritical pillock because if I’m honest with myself and we romp to Championship glory this season (ha!) I’ll wear that shirt with pride and unfortunately the club know this .
It’s just a shame that when the ban on betting companies arrives , we sneak it in incognito . |

Just like to quickly say that young Rayan has spent today at LR where there was a charity match arranged by YouTubers and influencers (whatever in the fck they are), just hanging out, talking to people and playing keepie uppies with the kids whist watching the spurs game .
Embarrassingly someone then video called me and then handed him the phone so we had a 5 minute chat about the relegation battle going on(he said he really wanted Spurs to come down so he could possibly play there next season), his barnet which now looks very different but pretty good and my QPR NFL shirt I was wearing .
For me it was awkward because I don’t do speaking to strangers that well , but he was polite genuine and friendly. A total credit to himself and his family .
It’s what I’ve heard constantly from people I know at the club so when I still read a few fans hint at a bad attitude or arrogance it annoys me .
We should be cherishing and nurturing young talent like Rayan. After all that is the ‘project’ isn’t it? |

I know we were already down when we went to Forest on the last day . Think we lost that 3-0 too.
My long standing memory of that afternoon was the Forest fans congregating in front of us then applauding us as it started to look a bit dicey .
And all the R’s in fancy dress . |

I thought Everton were embarrassing.
Didn’t really matter to them to be fair but still.
I wonder if Moyes stuck 2 fingers up at West Ham?
Put on 2 kids instead of more established faces in the bench .
Ndaiye , apart from 1 run looked like he was deliberately slowing everything down .
Didn’t he play for Enfield before Sheffield United ?
Might be wrong.
So ‘on the beach’ it’s hard to believe .
Also when we got relegated in 1996, didn’t we coincidentally beat West Ham 3-0 but still got relegated due to results elsewhere? It’s a long time ago |

Usyk looked (for him) sluggish and overweight . Verhoeven is an absolute beast though .
Just run out of steam slightly and Usyk made him pay .
I thought the stoppage was a little controversial but so was the time taken with the gum shield so levelled up a little bit .
I think if that find had gone the full 12 rounds , Usyk would have got the decision which potentially would have been even more controversial.
Didn’t get all crap at the end with bringing the German fighter in .
It really is a bit of a circus and another sport heading for WWE status. |

My over riding memory of Diarra was in a rare moment of breaking from the rigid pre match routine I watched him coach Varane for about 5 mins on turning on the ball and moving forward . They did it over and over …until the game started and Varane proceeded to pass backwards at every opportunity.
Not sure what it says about them both really.
But always felt like this was a bit of a stepping stone for him.
And maybe that’s been the problem for the last god knows how long . |

Late to this thread, mainly because the whole thing all seems a bit meh.
The World Cup used to be my Christmas and birthday all rolled into one.
Unfortunately a number of things about the last World Cup and this one leave a bit of a sour taste , not to mention modern football in general being pretty bland and dull.
So I’m not totally engaged with Infantino’s money printing circus this time round .
But for what it’s worth , which is zero, I wouldn’t be going anywhere without taking a footballer as talented at Trent with me . Even if he doesn’t start the tournament, he is the type of player who can change the tournament for us. I’m not sure about Maguire , but I do feel he is a bit of a Jimmy Dunne for Rangers…important in both boxes .
Feel for Palmer and Gibbs White . Palmer because we know he has the talent and MGW because he form deserves reward .
Anyway, I see a decent squad . But not anything that will start dumping out the best teams at the business end. Might be wrong .
Who knows .
Anyway set those alarm clocks for the pinnacle of the game when Iran play New Zealand.
I love that those countries get to play in a World Cup by the way. But not when they make up the majority . It’s supposed to be the best teams in the world . [Post edited 23 May 20:24]

Ilan Meslier being released from Leeds.
Would probably want big money and maybe would have his sites aimed higher ?
Good keeper on his day. Has an error in him for sure , but so will anybody we sign these days.
Experienced and better than Walsh.
Walsh will be number 1 of course so it’s irrelevant , but that gives me the fear a little bit. |
