It seems our under 23s had a friendly against Brentford B during the week - though it got zero coverage on the offish. It finished 3-3 - with goals from us coming direct from a free kick - and a penalty! What sorcery is this. I believe the scorer of both was a trialist - sign him up! You can the goals here
In a bit of light relief from our troubles, there could be a tasty game elsewhere on Saturday. On the face of it Fleetwood v Southend doesn't sound like much - but of course Fleetwood are managed by Joey Barton assisted by Clint Hill; and Southend by 'Bondy' Bond - with apparently Harry Redknapp acting as 'adviser' (sounds like Houston/Rioch to me!) The winner get to manage us??? (Joke!)
Shaun Harvey will leave his role as chief executive of the English Football League at the end of the season.
Harvey, 48, took over as CEO in 2013 and has been involved in football for 25 consecutive years.
Harvey said he was proud of what he has achieved "in what have not always been easy circumstances".
"I am happy to remain as CEO until after the play-offs, to conclude a number of outstanding matters that we are currently dealing with," he added.
"The time is right for the EFL to move in a different direction having concluded a number of commercial contracts that leave the League in a stable position."
Debbie Jevans, interim chair of the EFL said: "The EFL would like to thank Shaun for all he has delivered. The EFL is in a strong position with a growing fan base throughout the world and Shaun deserves a lot of credit for this."
I've noticed that Ryan Manning hasn't played for Rotherham since we played them. I know he couldn't play against us, but seems strange he hasn't played since, as he was doing very well for them. I wonder if he, and Rotherham, have been told he's coming back to us next month so they are making do without him?
