Great interview thanks for sharing.
I think Julien seems to be taking each game a lot more seriously this season.
This is encouraging.
Looking forward to see what we do against Bolton next weekend.

Looks like Kamara does the simple things well (including retaining the ball) which is what we need.

Rangers fans were very noisy. Well Done!
I could hear you from down under.

Pompey fans were much quieter once we banged three in.

Yes we have decent footballers now.

Just need to back it up against Bolton who beat Preston 2-1 today.
This is a good test to see if we are serious or not (to have a good season - playoffs or higher).

By the way Middlesbrough were lucky to beat Lincoln 2-1 with an injury time winner

If you think about where we were when we lost 4-0 away to Watford three years ago - we have come a long way now with a decent squad and off loading players not good enough sharpish
Also players like Pearman going to Olly for the season which will bring him on Eze and Chair style
I am confident we are turning this around.

Well Done QPR - an excellent win - early doors I felt it was going to be like Swansea away on Boxing Day 2024 (we lost 3-0)

Anyway a magical 12 minutes before half time and the game was set.

So many areas we can improve upon and a rare feat to win at Portsmouth so well done to all. Great support from the west london massive.

Good morning here in Aus (actually 2.45am and need to celebrate this win)

Love you all

U R's

PS Thanks Spaceman_P - Keep it going

No please leave as you had already stated 22 to 24. haha

Yes learning from today we may have better players than most of other teams - are we strong / hard enough to deliver the results to match? I would say 100% no. We need bigger and stronger players to get promoted (not just silky skills).

Millwall are not that good (although finished third last year), love a foul, long ball and crosses to a big unit in the box. Their manager Alex Neill is very canny. Their DoF is a Rangers man Steve Gallen who himself was a limited footballer however has managed to make the most of his career. Why did we let him go again?

Positives
We won't need to take penalty shoot outs in league matches
It looked like great weather
Pitch looked amazing - well done Ben Williams
Millwall did not throw seats at us (remember when Seaman was in goal league cup in 1987)
Who was brave or stupid enough to go to the second leg? (me haha)

Negatives
We remain mentality and physically weak against teams like Millwall
Burrell out wide is not going to work
Chair still slows us down and mostly his set piece play is poor - give it to Madsen.
If Charles wants to make it as a goalkeeper he needs to lift and not only be brilliant with his distribution but save shots and crosses too. Protect the goal first mate!

Team next week would start with
Charles
Mbengue
Dunne
Edwards
Kemper
Madsen
Smyth
Vale
Saito
Kone
Lloyd

I would drop Burrell and Chair or change the formation to something that will work
Can we go back to 4-1-4-1? that worked well in pre season

To be fair I am unsure just want us to do well
Bloody Rangers!
Talented but under deliver
Then when you are about to give up will provide pure joy.
It is mental.

Thoughts from the game
Millwall seem to always have an edge over us even when we have been very good and they have been rubbish (over the years). Today we were the better team but lost in a penalty shoot out.

Charles stuffed up for the goal - I love his distribution but am now worried about both keepers as they have stuffed up with balls they should be able to deal with.
Jensen looked class in goal for Millwall (saved all four penalties and a few decent chances in the match)

I thought Mbengue wanted to make things happened and was ok and on a few occasions did not deliver.

Dunne played well and just about scored.

Edwards was solid.

Kemper played well and was unlucky not to score - love his attitude and approach

Madsen was rock solid

Smyth was effective and Millwall players should have been booked early on for fouling him

I worry about Chair he slows us down and messes up on a few occasions like when trying to pass in Kone in to score
Generally set pieces were poor (apart from when Dunne nearly scored)

Burrell was poor and I am not sure is suited out wide

Vale was ok but one corner was terrible (he seems to defer to Chair all the time on set pieces - why can't Madsen take set pieces as he is more accurate that Chair and Vale????)

Kone struggles against Cooper

Burrell is not a wide man and struggled.

Lloyd did well when he came on.
Saito was good too.
Poku unsure?
Adamson was ok
Varane was ok

Just feel we remain mentally weak and are going to be outmuscled by a lot of teams although we are more skillful than most of them
imho Millwall are not very good but they are effective and well drilled.

You can select Champions for 1st and for 24th - would be in the 22 to 24 option

Hunter thank you for your help.
Few questions if that is ok?
Do you think we are heading in the right direction?
Thoughts on Kolli?

Not me haha
I am thinking top 8 - if injuries don't impact us like last two seasons we should go well
Also we have a great opportunity to start the season well too playing teams that finished low last season.

Over 60% so far say 9 to 12 and then the next 24% are saying play offs. Hello here we go and 5% saying we'll be Champions. You R's Let's Go!!! We can do it.

I am trusting we will perform well - does it feel like a Venables 1982-83 or Warnock 2010-11 coming up? Not convinced but you never know.
Harry Kneecaps 2013-14 (with a massive budget - breaking all the rules which we are still literally paying for today).
Mark Warburton 2020-21 (9th)
or god forbid
2023-24 - 18th — Managed by Gareth Ainsworth / Martí Cifuentes (don't blame Marti he saved us - bloody legend - why was he sacked again?)
2022-23 - 20th - Michael Beale / Neil Critchley / Gareth Ainsworth
2018-19 -19th - Steve McClaren / John Eustace (don't blame John Eustace)
2016-17 - 18th - Managed by Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink / Ian Holloway (don't blame Ian Holloway)

Been a QPR supporter since early 70's - even though at the other end of the world since late 90's have never lost my love or passion for the superhoops. The best team and club that has ever existed. My love for QPR will never leave me. I am sure you feel the same. I am transferring this love to my son. Love to all. We can do it!
