Not forgetting the fact that we wasted 3 years with Rugby's answer to Frank Spencer in charge.

I think this issue is worthy of discussion; taxpayers do spend a heck of a lot training doctors who then leave to love abroad. How you implement that in a capitalist society is far from easy as you say

Tony Blair had nothing to do with the coalition and continued Conservative majorities deciding not to enforce rules. It was cheaper to keep people on the sausage roll rather than deport after 3 months.

Well to be fair to you, Milliband and Corbyn were hardly viable alternatives.

On your last point, that's why we urgently need electoral reform. People of all persuasions should have a voice and apathy leads us to where we are now!

I'm not saying Labour are perfect, but facts are facts. Who has been in for nearly 14 years, promised unicorns and radically increased legal and illegal migration? It's now 2024 which has nothing to do with Tony Blair. "No parliament may be hindered by it's predecessor".

Successive parliaments have chosen to do nothing rather than howl and play to the crowd. However my main point is until we have sweeping electoral reform and people stop doffing their caps to people with posh accents, we are Donald ducked as they say

Tony Blair was a long long time ago, like I said the Tories have had ample time to do something and they've made it worse. Dare I say it an opportunity from Brexit was to heavily invest in home grown skilled labour (especially in construction, digital/tech) through the apprenticeship levy and they've buggered that up too.

We always had the opportunity to send EU migrants packing after 3 months if they weren't in work, but it was "cheaper" to keep them on the sausage roll rather than fully staff border force.

And on PR, that gives a broader presence for candidates from the left and right. As it stands no doubt Froggy Führage and Tice will bottle it and stand down to help the Tories like they did in 2019. With PR they have a seat at the table and are accountable in parliament. It cannot be any worse than the arcane FPTP and instead of Muppets like Corbyn and Tice howling with little to no influence, they have to enact what they've promised their loyal followers

If you think the Tories are the lesser of the two evils when they've just undertaken one of the largest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in the past 13 years then there really is no hope for you. For a party of sound money, they are pretty dire at that, aren't they?

And for more bonus points, which party could do something about migration but chooses not to so they can howl on GBN, in the Mail and in the Telegraph? Which party has actually over seen huge increases in net migration? It's not actually labour...

The real problem lies in FPTP, proportional representation is the way forward, where parties have to work together in the national interest to deliver for the people.

I think you've misunderstood what I've said. The Mail, sun et Al have done untold damage to this country with the bike and lies they tell on a daily basis.

Edit, my crack handed wording. Actually regulating the shîtty behaviour was my point, sorry Winston!

Aside from the wars New Labour's biggest mistake was not regulating these shîtty rags out of business. cloughie was right about the damage these parasites have caused

"tough guy"?

It's a damn shame they didn't as we would've seen the truth. Maybe you can ask your pals why they ponied up the costs of the Trust's legal bills.

Well they actually do with the rocketing costs of their student loan.

And would you tolerate a 16% pay cut too? Tell me, why are you so silent on the way Serco, capita and the crong contracts have robbed the public purse? Are some scroungers more equal than others?

If the government actually processed claims instead of decimating border force during the May regime as Home Sec, we wouldn't be footing such a bill

Funnily enough Iain Dale mentioned this last night. It's a reasonable point but one that is clumsy at best. There's a lack of competence in the cabinet and this is just basic

You're either an excellent wind up merchant or you're terminally stupid. Which one is it? Which part about junior doctors get paid less now than they did in 2008 is that hard to comprehend?

It's got nothing to do with greed because if it was you'd be opining on those parasites who robbed the public purse during covid.
