Newcastle tickets 21:55 - Dec 16 with 31274 views442Dale

Now we are through, with the added bonus of tonight’s game being on tv and the Newcastle game also on BT, really hope we are sensible with the ticket prices ie. not raising them by a fiver a la Sunderland etc. With the Accrington game three days before and Bolton the week after, we don’t want to see fans having to make a choice and missing vital league games.

For a number of years we’ve not had a “big” draw in cup competitions. This will be the third in less than two years, floating fans will start to think twice if the price isn’t right as the novelty is going. If the home ends aren’t full, we’ll have got it wrong.

I'm tipping that those of us who actually attend games aren't going be messed about as per the Sunderland fixture, hence my post

We know the club read this; I'm just trying to make life easier for them, which is entirely positive

No no and fooking thrice no, you need to put a few more hurdles in the way prior to fans being able to purchase tickets....bang a booking fee on top, use a premium phone number and only open the ticket office for 1 hour a day between 3am-4am,that should do the bloody trick...

You'll be fine, we won't sell out.

It really isn't a MASSIVE game for floating fans - Newcastle don't have any marquee players, even their multi-million pound man Almiron isn't much a draw for regular football fans.

They don't even have a glamour manager, last time I saw Steve Bruce he was having a piss in Faro Airport and I wasn't exactly starstruck.

I once was stood next to Shakin Stevens having a piss. Not good.

Jesus saves but Beasley scores off the rebound.

I still think it will be a sell out (if the powers at be dont increase the prices). We dont play Premier League teams at Spotland every week (Spurs and Stoke in our history?) Its the FA Cup 3rd round and we are the opening fixture of the weekend. We get 2000 regular league fans at home so realistically there are only 3500 floating fans to shift tickets to (based on 9000 capacity). I expect tickets will go on sale tomorrow for season ticket holders and open sale from Monday?

Hospitality prices have gone up, quite significantly, not sure about turnstile prices.

12:31 kick off and game on TV.

You're joking!

I could have made it for a 12.30pm kick-off.

It’ll sell out in hours just as the Spurs game did, as long as we don’t mess with the price. We shifted over 5,000 home tickets for Stoke on a Monday night on tv & we played them numerous times in recent memory. A Saturday afternoon game v Newcastle is a massive draw.

So £95 per head rather than £65? That cannot be right, surely?

That's absolutely scandalous.

I was genuinely interested in taking the hospitality for this game, but those prices take the piss.

Obviously aiming to fill it with geordies used to paying these prices, having to stump up for that days before Christmas is a big ask for many, just hope match day prices aren’t similarly hiked

Having seen that, they no doubt will be.

An increase of £30 for a fry-up over a three-course meal. FFS.

I trust for that price the ingredients are organic and it will woozed around the pan by a Michelin starred chef, AA rosette at the very least

If 100 people avail themselves of the meal in the ratcliffe, and ordinary punters can’t get in for a drink and drink elsewhere , I’m thinking the club will actually take less money than a normal busy match day

Not been in the 'posh' areas of Spotland in years but I'm not aware they have been upgraded any. I'm not sure how well the club do out of corporate hospitality but I can't see it being a great money spinner for us. These prices are clearly aimed at non-regulars but you'd have to be a bit of a mug to pay what they're asking (though the club is a big fan of mugs).

As a general point a re-fit of the corporate areas more akin to what they have at Salford City would produce a pretty quick ROI if managed correctly.
