It will now take place five weeks later than previously agreed.

It’s worth noting the part about a commitment to the schedule agreed last year ( from last June: https://www.rochdaleafc.co.uk/news/2023/june/supporterstrustmeetings_june23/ )

Since September:

Thursday 28th September 2023
Focus Group - Volunteer Army
TOOK PLACE ON 5/10/23.

Thursday 26th October 2023
Club Board/Staff Reps & Dale Trust - meeting three
POSTPONED TWICE. TOOK PLACE 23/11/23.

Thursday 30th November 2023
Focus Group - 24/25 playing kit, merchandise, etc
POSTPONED. STILL TO TAKE PLACE.

Thursday 21st December 2023
Club Board/Staff Reps & Dale Trust - meeting four
POSTPONED. NIGHT OF THE CLUB AGM.

Thursday 25th January 2024
Fans Forum
POSTPONED. NOW SCHEDULED FOR 29/2/24.

Thursday 29th February 2024
Club Board/Staff Reps & Dale Trust - meeting five
NOW THE DATE OF THE FANS FORUM.

So is the Trust meeting with the board now on 25/1 “meeting four” or “meeting five”?

Is waiting almost seven weeks (from today) to hold a Fans Forum going to benefit the club and its supporters, especially in light of the excellent work by the Trust recently to raise funds?

Poll: Greatest Ever Dale Game

The Trust email says:

“Fixtures for w/c 22nd January include the away game against Altrincham on Tuesday 23rd and an away game against Aldershot on Saturday 28th, and, it is suggested that the original date of the 25th January might prove a diversion of Jim's full concentration on current playing matters that week.”

Don’t know why that’s not in the club’s statement as well given the Trust said it but we don’t have the same football schedule on the revised date.

Those fixtures were released last summer. Any organisation who plans effectively would look forward at factors such as football fixtures (should they be a football club of course) and amend schedules accordingly, well in advance.

For example, when previously agreed meetings have been due to take place (albeit not on the originally scheduled date), it has been noted exactly when the next meetings/forum were due to take place. So, in September, with the knowledge of January’s fixtures, the following was confirmed by the club:

And whilst that argument about that particular week does make sense, why was there a delay of a further five weeks rather than a week or two later?

It's a valid point about the fixtures schedule if viewed in isolation, but since the manager would've been fully aware of the schedule for that week when the original date of the Forum was put forward, it might also be assumed the club has other motives of its own for rescheduling

For instance, it'll be interesting to see how we stand financially at the end of February, rather than the end of January

Just wondering if we are back to a possible takeover being on the cards and more time is needed to make a public announcement

Smacks of something like. 5 weeks is a long delay. Feels like something is brewing.
