Hopefully it'll prove a big distraction to Bradford - although reaching the League Cup final a couple of years ago didn't stop them achieving promotion via the playoffs from L2

I'm not sure the idea was intended for them to win it (Swansea may do yet) but to give them proper game time rather than Academy matches. I know Wolves went out tonight and Connor didn't play due to a knock - but he's certainly benefitted from games against Chesterfield and Accrington and him and Bright Enobakhare are now being selected for 1st team action.

If they are going to try and keep this competition as a 'development' competition it should be the same rules for all teams no matter what level.

I'd go for 5 players in the starting line up must be either 23 and over or have at least 20 first team appearances.

Oh and why not include Championship to L2 teams and call it the Football League Trophy. Sack off the Prem clubs as I can't see them having any interest.

If there's one positive from the EFL trophy this season its that i'm certain Hill will try and recruit Robson from Sunderland at some point down the line.
