They did beat Blackburn at Ewood though, the week after Rovers dicked us at San Spotty.

Difficult to forecast, but we are still slightly on the up.

Has anybody got the stats for our results against the old / proper Wimbledon before the MK franchise hijacked them?

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Was 77/78 the year the original game was postponed or was it the following year. 5 of us went down there but had no car radio. It was called of at 9.00 but we didn't know and made it to the ground. Will be there tomorrow to see them for the first time since then.

That was January 1981. Living down south it was going to be my first ever game as I had finally persuaded my Dad (who had no interest in football) to take me. We also got to the ground and I was gutted. My Dad wasn't as he realised there was a rugby game we could go to instead not that far away. Had to wait another year to get to a game and missed seeing David Esser play.

I seem to remember that 0-0 draw at home.
It was reasonably early in the season and on a Monday/Tuesday night.
They were flying at the top of the league and we were struggling.
I leant over the railings of the old tunnel and implored their manager (Dave Bassett?) "please go easy on us tonight" as the teams came out.
At the end of the game he turned round and winked, saying "that ok for you!"

Monday 25 September. Their manager was Dario Gradi (who was succeeded by Dave Bassett):

I doubt it'd be worth asking Neal Ardley to do us any favours tomorrow.

They didnt go easy on us at Plough Lane the season before - having beaten them easily at home over the Xmas period we went to tick off a new ground full of....hope? and got hammered. I think Mike Poole was in goal, not that it mattered...it could have been Gordon Banks, the result would have still been the same.

I think it was Dave Sutton who signed Reeves on a free, and who saw him go to Wimbledon (for a reported £200k).

It was, but the fee was higher, I believe.

It was jan 1981 I was one of the 5! There was a small puddle near the touchline and a local ref said it was waterlogged, no doubt after some persuasion from Bassett. They had won at Oldham in a cup replay a few days earlier and a few players had picked up injuries.
