How many times do you reckon Perks will get sent off this season? He does play with his heart on his sleeve and that passion is something we have lacked recently. But he had a mini flare up last night. Some refs won’t wear that kind of ’aggression’ and it may get him in to trouble.
I’m all for it, by the way. Love a bit of spice in a match.

Anyone know what his record was like last season?

Agree that we’ve missed that steel over the past couple of seasons. This midfield is full of exciting young talent but at times it’s naïve and at times it’s lightweight. We’ve missed someone like Dawson to provide that mettle and let the opposition know they won’t be just walking through us. Perkins can provide that and has the technical ability too, meaning he’s far more than just a Cavanagh/Keane-type destroyer.

Absolutely spot on shun, just a shame some blinkered people only mention his age as a negative,he brings far more to the team being in there and will also help to bring the younger players on too.

Hopefully he can do a job for us.

With age should come some game maturity.

Opposition will target him if they realise hes easy to wind up.

So long as he doesn’t do a Hendo and retaliate before the offence 😄

As long as Richard Beeby doesn't make a comeback we should be ok.

Is he still too old or can you actually see he may well bring something to the whole team, including all these army of young midfielders we've apparently got waiting to play every week, currently all sitting on the bench

In both pre-season games I've been to, he has been absolutely outstanding.

If we are able to keep him fit for 3/4 of our league schedule this season, then relegation won't be on our minds.

He doesn't look or play any different than when he left 10 years ago!

It sounds like he is fit and raring to go, I don’t do pre season games any more so I will have to wait till season starts . I mentioned a while back that I think signing players mid to late 30’s is a retrograde step, however if they play well I’ll be a happy bunny. I’m sure last seasons trials and tribulations have had a positive impact on our younger players, and given them lots of experience. I don’t intend to spend the season arguing over ages . If they are good enough it won’t be an issue whether young or old

It seems as though Hilly is sticking with Hendo as the penalty taker.

Can't think of any other player who might have a stronger claim to the job.
