Support Across Rochdale 16:36 - Feb 13 with 2322 viewsHullDale

Having a wander through Rochdale this weekend, I couldn't help but notice the support for the club in all sorts of locations. I don't think we've had this much publicity and goodwill in the town since the FA Cup 'Dale Up For The Cup' car stickers when we played Wolves years ago!

These were up everywhere!

In one bar we went into, the bar lad was handing out flyers to punters and bringing people up to speed with the threat our club is facing.

Superb effort by the fans. And another two fingers up at Bottomley, Rawlinson and the others who ratted on the club.

The only person who has ratted is ALEXANDER JARVIS.

If Bottomley hadn't picked up the phone in the first place to make contact with these snakes, there wouldn't be a crisis and this sh1tstorm wouldn't be with us.

It's him that started all this nonsense.

I'm still not sure which is worse.

Jarvis for being a grass. Bottomley for opening the door to Jarvis, Southall and Curran in April 2021 in such an arrogant way that it was clearly witnessed and hidden from the fans.

We all knew about Martin Halsall and I believe that Martin Halsall was introduced to the Trust (as the Trust said in their BBC article)

https://www.daletrust.co.uk/2021/10/trust-response-to-bbc-article/

Andrew Curran and Matthew Southall were not mentioned to any supporter or shareholder I know at the June AGM

Either way, about 1,000 Spotland regulars all know the truth and I am sure in time it will all come out. Its such a big story and Morton House are taking a Supporters Trust to the High Court it kind of has to all come out.

The other dirty secret that has come out is that Jarvis being a Birkenhead boy loved a bit of Cilla. He's a thing for the more mature lady.

Bottomley too loved a bit of Cilla by all accounts; although more generational for him than geographical.

Here's something the two of them might be able to harmonise:

The more the world is changing
the more it stays the same
Life is full of small surprises
it's a never ending game
If nothing is impossible
will you believe your eyes
If the unexpected brings a smile
that's a big surprise
Surprise, surprise, the unexpected hits you between the eyes
The unpredictable, that's the surprise you see, surprise! surprise

It should be clear that RAFCBLUE is using the term "ratted" in the specific sense of "telling tales on someone"

The thread, however, is about the amount of support we're seeing from the wider community in the town, which is great

EDIT: a thought that shouldn't get lost amid another "it was Bottomley/Kilpatrick,etc. who started it" wrangle

Very true......

But I can't help feel that Andrew Kilpatrick had something to do with it. As our largest shareholder, gifted the shares by his father, why did he walk away when he did and why was he keen to sell out? He had no need and the size of his shareholding made the potential takeover possible. Bottomley was the enabler, but his shareholding was irrelevant. It was Kilpatrick that tipped the balance.

Kilpatrick has made tidy sum from the sale of his shares. Even after paying capital gains tax he has made a lot of cash. If he had any guilt he could gift some money to the fighting fund. He can't ever have thought it would end like this. His father would be appalled. There is still time.

You are right DA and just so I am clear the term "ratted" refers to the numerous phone calls that Alexander Jarvis has had this last week.

The man has a mouth wider than the River Mersey.

However you are right this thread is about the support the town of Rochdale and current and former residents have given and continue to give to the cause.

The show of solidarity has been immense.

“why did he walk away when he did and why was he keen to sell out?”

Maybe Curran ‘had something on him’.

He certainly didn’t need the brass.

Looking at the state of that little scouse tramp, I’m fairly certain a brass is the only sort of female attention he attracts.
