David Kilpatrick Funeral 14:21 - Oct 4 with 4330 viewsBoss_Hog

The funeral of our former Chairman will take place at 12.15pm on Tuesday 12th October at St Andrews Church in Dearnley. The cortege will then pass Spotland at 2pm and pause outside Main Reception on the way to a family-only committal at the crematorium.

Mr Kilpatrick's family would dearly love to see Dale supporters in attendance at the church and also at the wake at Spotland afterwards.

Excellent send off for DFK today. A full church and a full lounge at Dale.

Nice to see Steve Parkin make an appearance for the service.

Also a special mention to The Directors who were in attendance. It was noted they made the effort to pay their respects, in stark contrast to the previous regime who couldn't walk across Sandy Lane to the Crematorium to show their appreciation to a man who left the club £250,000.

I've just had a flashback to a memorable DFK moment!

When discussing my position at the club we discussed a title role.

Now I thought this would lead to wrangling until he blurted out, "You can be the fooking ayatollah as long as you bring in more fooking money than I'm going to pay you."

Who could resist. That was his charm and humour in a nutshell.

I'm not sure if funerals should be described as memorable, but the emotion in the church was difficult to witness. The only thing worse than seeing people mourning is watching us play. I feel for his family who were all distraught. RIP Chairman.
