bad publicity for us
at 20:58 1 Dec 2014

Maybe. There are few who think it is fine. No doubt they are the same type as the ones who we had giving it the big un too.

Saturday on the whole was a good day, living in Rochdale and having gone to Oulder Hill as a kid - it should have been. I am unhappy with the stewards in our end, they were bang out of order. I have been told by a mate that isn't the first time it's been mentioned about stewards in the Wilbutts lane end.

Anyway, good luck for the season. A few plebs have seemingly spoilt the views of quite a few Dale fans.

There were battles down Bury road when you played Bury a few years ago. A few lads who went to my school were banned from Dale games. Every club has the knobhead element: Dale included, don't let a few our ours make you think we were all like that.

See you at BP whenever it is played.

Got a caution.

He is a very mild mannered bloke and the police / stewards were a disgrace with him.

As for the stuff in the home end, I'd certainly lend the blame with the fans jumping up. They should have kept their gobs shut. Whether that means you should be allowed to whack someone for it, I am not sure. Seemingly the mentality on most on here is yes?! Bizzare.

It's a shame that this is what is being discussed.

Id say that yesterday was nowhere near our best performance.

We were not great, but not being great and winning 3-0 away from home against a side in tbe top 10 is a good sign.

Personally I think we will finish in the top 10. We have lost 3 in 29 (granted some were last season) so its not a flash in the pan.

We got it wrong
at 10:17 30 Nov 2014

Personally I didnt think it was anything like a 3-0. We were just slightly better in all areas. I.e. We moved it slightly quicker, a 50/50 was won by us and we looked slightly quicker. Add all those up and it eqates to a win.

We didnt dominate for long spells like you would expect from a 3-0. It wasn't as if you couldn't get the ball or your keeper was making save after save.

You need a striker from that performance and some pace. You couldn't stretch us, but you were not that far off us IMO. Its just the extra 5%, that turns a draw into a win for us.

As for the midfield, with the exception of the first 20 at bristol city, our midfield has outplayed most sides. Its our strongest area

9 out of 10 of latics fans were fine. A few caused bother. Those lot can do one.

The sweeping statements seem to be from both sides. Rochdale as a club did nothing wrong with the allocation of tickets. As for smoke bombs... Didnt some dale fans do the same at Bury on TV?! Its very easy to point the finger, without looking at yourself.

The way the stewards and police acted with Hulk Hogan was nothing short of a disgrace. Absolutely appalling.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

Im much more worried about the game than most. There are a few that in a million years cant imagine anything other than a big latics win. They are also those who slag the team off the most. Every club has them.

Personally, I think it will be a good game. Quite a few goals too.

I'd take a 1-0 boring win now.

Forte is our obvious dangerman. Johnson and Jones will need to be watched. Teams that sit really deep seem to have joy against us, and those who press us high up the pitch have caused us a few problems. Those who we go "toe to toe" with, i.e. just try to match us all over - we seem to out play.

Dale have proven their results are no fluke. Im predicting a 2-2.

The duty of care aspect is only if the club and police is at fault.

Rochdale in this instance are not.

Pretty sure I made that quite clear in the earlier post.

Away fans should only be given a section in the home end on police advice.
At Bury when about 500 were locked out, it was stupid. Having 500 or so football fans walking about looking for somewhere to drink, but not being allowed in anywhere, when there was plenty of room in the ground is asking for trouble. Especially when Bury's idiot element know about it and look for them.
The police and Bury were at fault that day. The fact they left it pay on the day (some bought tickets) was the cause. Loads who had a ticket were left outside.

Rochdale have given us 3200 tickets, what the problem is with that, I don't know. If it was all pay on the day and too many turn up, the police and rochdale would then have a duty of care. Its all ticket, if you dont have one and want to go, just don't be a dickhead and everything will be fine.

Latics have had fans of other teams in the home end at boundary park before, and it will happen again. It depends on how they are. If they are ok, then I've never seen a problem. If they are giving it out, the stewards will get rid.

Self inflicted? The only latics fans I know of going in the home end are a woman and her oap parents. If someone can't handle those 3 being near you whilst supporting another side without hitting them; then they should be locked up for the public's safety.

There seems to be a few kids on the internet getting a hard on because we are taking a big crowd. Personally I couldn't care less. It's about winning on Saturday, nothing more.

Trouble? Hopefully there won't be.

Dale vs Cheltenham

As a latics fan who went to your game last night and must say I was pretty impressed. I gather it wasn't a "typical" performance, but you played well - even threw in a comedy OG.
What was impressive to me was the way the players imposed their authority on the game after the OG. After a few weeks of conceding 3 and 4, I half expected Dale to crumble a bit. Credit to them, apart from one volley just after the goal - there was never really any danger of cheltenham coming back.

The lad at Right back looked good and I was impressed with the goals. Some peaches in there.

Good luck for the season.

Totally biased ref? Surely you are taking the piss?!?

Blatent latics pen not given
Some dodgy free kicks given for dale.
Long should hsve been booked for persistant fouling.

Biased is right. He should have worn a blue shirt. (should have sent tarky off for the pen though)

We deserved nothing.

We were crap in that second half. 2nd to every ball.

You brought the pressure on yourselves by backing off, but that what sides in a relegation scrap do. Latics have been in enough for me to know.

The penalty was a correct decision, should have been a red too - but still cant beliece we didnt get one for an obvious handball in the first half.

Beat of luck for the season.

Living in Rochdale (well norden) - being a latics fan, this should be a big game for me... but it's not. I don't believe it is for Dale fans either.

I went to your game against Bury and was very impressed with Dale. Adams always causes us problems, typical winger - good on his day, but our weak point is our left back. I think he could have a field day tomorrow.

Confidence is hardly high for both sides and I am not expecting a classic.

Prediction 2-1 to you lot, Bunn to score just cos it's against a former club.

No doubt if you do win - there will be a load of plebs shouting for Dickov to go and to be fair if we win Colman will have had enough time and I'll boo him for you.

Enjoy the game

Latics view
at 19:15 20 Aug 2011

A strange game to analyse really with a sending off. You started much brighter, nipped it about well and but for a good save from Cisak would have been a goal up. We were far far too deep and I thought you looked comfortable on the ball, all wanted it, all wanted to be positive. The handbags in the corner brought us to life really. I was no-where near it, it looked nothing to me, but the dale fans were not happy with Taylor.
The penalty - looked soft to me, but did he get the ball? I wouldn't say he did either.
Trotman had to go, stupid foul having already been booked. Idiotic decision making from him.We were going nowhere at the time, well inside our own half. The handbags and lets have it gestures from Trotman were poor, but so was the stick he got from our fans - he always put a shift in for us.
If we didn't score the 2nd, we are flaky and I think you could have got something from it. (Even at 10 men) - The second went in, great header, but he had a free run in. That might have been trotman's man, but still that was poor.
2nd half and we created a few good chances, but we cant finish. We were never really troubled and it fizzled out. All the way through we lumped it far too much. When we did pass it we were a better side.

Special marks to your keeper, pulled off a few good saves and also to Holness who I thought was again excellent. Akpo-Akpo worked his knackers off and your winger (adams?) was a threat. You just didn't get him in it enough. I was relieved that Kennedy didn't play, he and Jones ran the show last season in both games and Kennedy was one of the best midfielders I saw. He doesn't give it away. The guy in today might be quicker, and more mobile, but he isn't as good (off what I saw today)

Our keyboard warriors will give you grief for the size of support, but you made a decent noise, and you did it when you were 2 down too.. We had 4200 for a derby game, thats MASSIVE obviously!

To the dickhead who was giving us cut throat gestures at the front whilst sat with your kids, sort your life out and loose some weight. To the rest of you - see you at spotland in March, I will bet we finish within 5 points of each other. Both a bit toothless. Good luck for the season.
