Not a chance in hell. He’d want a top tier club not a laughing stock.

Brendan Rodgers has an inflated sense of his own ability and earning power, you pay him enough he would take the job, that is the bad news, the good news is that we are not likely to offer him enough to take the job

He is in a position to wait for the right job. Southampton isn’t the right job for a lot of managers at present especially the level of Rodgers. He would be an excellent manager for us in The Championship, but it’s not going to happen. Too expensive, too outspoken. Dare I say it, too good.

I have never been a big fan of his, yes got Swansea promoted before leaving for Liverpool a year later, I think he underperformed at Liverpool and at Celtic in his first spell, it was a one horse race, with Rangers still recovering from demotion etc. Leicester won the FA Cup under Rodgers after beating Saints in the semi and did well in Europe, but left the club a month before they were relegated in 2023. Back to Celtic for another one horse race for two years.

Meanwhile since Puel got sacked because he was boring we’ve had Pellegrino Hughes Hasenhuttl Jones Selles Martin Rusk Juric Still Rodgers maybe a kunt but he’s a better manager than any of the above. He would be a sensible manager but Sport Republic wouldn’t pay the wages and it’s not a ‘clever’ enough appointment. As I said why would he even contemplate joining SFC? A club heading for League 1 with owners like we have. Birmingham City thought they were too big to go down. They did.

As showcased by his signing of Vestergaard. He comes from the Redknapp school of self-congratulation and things never being his fault. Avoid.

This. Brenda also bought Ryan Bertrand from us who was visibly slowing and past his 'sell by' date. Him and Vestigard were good business for us, but showed Brenda up as clueless.
