Bayern Munich Vs PSG 22:02 - Apr 7 with 1094 viewsA1079

I have to admit, most European Championship games bore me to tears and I usually give up at some point but this game was pure football entertainment. Both sides played to win. I know Pochettino left us with a bit of a sour taste but I have to admit to liking him and I do enjoy watching his style of football.

What a game that was
One thing though was the fact that defending really seems to becoming a lost art, it seems it’s all about you score we score more
Fun to watch though

Which is what makes TAA the best right back in the world, despite the fact he defends like Craig Fleming (easily the worst right back I’ve seen in the premier league).

Was a great assist by TAA for Real's 2nd goal

Can't see anyone arguing with Southgate now!

The best wing-back in the Premier League this season is Luke Shaw. He really has matured into an outstanding player and is now first choice for England.

Interesting that PSG, Mbappe, Neymar and all couldn't score against Fonte's Lille team in their last game.

Fonte leads one of the meanest defences in Europe. Only 19 goals conceded in 31 games:

The lesson is, let's not write off Ryan Bertrand just yet. He is still an outstanding defender. Lots of wing-backs, including Alexander-Arnold, are good at attacking but there are plenty of good attacking midfielders out there. What many of them are not so good at is defending.

good observations. especially regards Bertrand, who seems underrated by many Saints fans, yet he has a significant contribution to the team

Luke Shaw has been brilliant this season and rightly viewed as the best LB in the country.

As for TAA, how dare Southgate think about leaving him out. He is a 'red' and therefore, must be in the team!

I struggle with the concept of full backs who can’t defend very well. Surely that is their primary role? If they can’t defend perhaps they should be playing higher up the pitch if they are better at attacking? Same with goalkeepers. They were saying in TalkSport last night that keepers who can play the ball out from the back are often more highly rated than shot stoppers. Bizarre.
