Some people will do anything for publicity. As the saying goes "any publicity is good publicity, regardless of it being good or bad."

I see all politicians as players, but to compare him to a disgraced Royal and regular at Epstein Island is ridiculous and unfounded. Are Obama and Clintons also on a par with Mountbatten Windsor or are they given a free pass, courtesy of their political views in your opinion?
| I wholly disapprove of what you say and will defend to the death your right to say it. |

Highly unlikely but if Rupert turned up on your doorstep canvassing for your vote, would you invite him in for a chat and a cuppa? Could be amusing asking him what he would do differently running the country as opposed to a football club. Or would you give him the Jehovah Witness treatment and send him on his way with a flea in his ear? Something tells me he may lose his deposit before he restores anything.

He may lose his deposit, but he will be coming out with all sorts of stuff which could be highly damaging for Farage.

" Could be amusing asking him what he would do differently running the country as opposed to a football club." Hopefully nothing. He was hated by idiot fans for only spending money the club could afford and not money it could not afford (or 'investing' as the mornonic fans called it).

I genuinely can't get my head round how any Saints fan can't see through him, he showed us his colours when he ran the club. A private school bully who had no respect for normal people and was entirely out to enrich himself. A pathological liar and the definition of the elite. You'd have to be properly f*cking dense to be taken in by him

20 odd years ago I was pals with his next door neighbour, when I say neighbour he lived on the next farm in Cheltenham He rang me out of the blue and offered me a seat in the directors box with him as Rupert''s guests at the game of our choice. I declined the offer as I didn't want to embarrass my pal and get kicked out for calling Rupert a c**t My pal knew very little about football and was pretty shocked when I explained my reaction to his offer. He rang me back a few days later to say Rupert wanted to speak to me on the phone, I again declined the offer as I had nothing to say to him. I'm still waiting for my refund for being overcharged for my ticket for the Stauea Bucharest away game when they took the piss on the prices and he said everyone would get a refund [Post edited 19 Feb 18:58]

Interestingly, Gordon Strachan recently said in his interview about Saints, that he likes Rupert Lowe and that he always tells the truth.

I bumped into Lowe outside the team hotel in Bucharest the dsy of the game. Told him at 1-1 from first leg, I thought we still had good chance of getting through to next round, His response was it wasn’t worth getting through as we didn’t make any money from progressing. Hated him ever since, and his putting us into Administration days after we could have taken a points deduction the year we were going to get relegated in 2009, made my stance regards him even stronger

The epitome of someone who is not a football man and doesn’t understand what defines history of football clubs. Who remembers teams who finish mid-table in the Prem?

| Rupert Lowe is gunning for PM with his Restore Party on 09:05 - Feb 20 with 137 views | jopreston | I can only agree with many of the posts above. Lowe was no where near as bad (if at all) as some proclaim. He was running a club as a PLC and thus had his hands tied on spending. He got us a stadium. He kept us up against the odds many times. OK, he was lucky perhaps sometimes. As a politician some of what he says is on the nail. But he is too crass and to hard hitting. Once again it seems his only focus is on British people first (noble and the way it should be) but there are many many other things wrong with the UK and like reform, they seem not to even talk about those things as yet. Absolutely no way I will ever vote Labour at this time, they are a total mess. We know what we will get from the Tories, so no more of that please. The Lib dems are a bit of both and at times seem to have no idea who they are. Greens are mad under that Zack guy, utterly mental. Cannot vote for Farage, but might be tempted to have voted Reform if they had a better leader and would speak more about the other important aspects that need fixing in the UK. | | | |
