| Linesman supposedly elbows Robertson at halftime 18:01 - Apr 9 with 3379 views | SFC_Referee | Well I’ve only just seen the clip but one of the AR’s to the Liverpool-Arsenal game has supposedly elbowed Andy Robertson in the neck at halftime. Although whether Robertson started it, and whether it’s intentional or not isn’t the clearest I do think it’s a sign of what’s to change. As there’s no coincidence of this, that Mitrovic incident and the Mexican ref kicking a player in the balls all happening within the last week… | |

| Linesman supposedly elbows Robertson at halftime on 18:26 - Apr 9 with 3321 views | Southamptonfan | Interestingly, Roy Keane was standing up for the referee, calling Robertson a big baby and should be concentrating on the game. I can imagine Robertson being a tw@t saying stuff to the AR (because that what these players do at these top clubs) and he's human he reacted. But ofcourse officials can't do that, he will be in trouble won't he. | |

Well I’ve now had a decent look at it from certain angles and what seemed to of happened was the AR tried Robertson off of him, after he grabbed him. As that’s all he’s done, just simply shrugged his hand off which lead to a slight bit of contact, with no real force, into Robertson face… As if he ain’t grabbed in the first place by Robertson none of this happens, as if your gonna discipline the AR then I guess Robertson needs it as well for grabbing him in the first place! Which is just nonsense, just the same as disciplining the AR, which is why really I’d hope the FA/PL won’t do anything as the AR had no intent and had a right to get him off of him

| Linesman supposedly elbows Robertson at halftime on 18:50 - Apr 9 with 3274 views | Heisenberg | Robertson goes up to the AR and is in his face. AR elbows him away. Robertson then cries to all the players that he’s been elbowed. It was a great game but they have to get a grip on player behaviour. Time wasting, pretend injuries and ref abuse is becoming unacceptable and they need to clamp down on it. As for Robertson I hope the AR doesn’t get banned as it will add to the self entitlement of these players. | |

But unfortunately refs can’t do too much about these issues because some have nothing to prevent them under the LOTG (aka fake injuries which I also had loads of in one of the game I officiated in today), time wasting is something that more inhurty time during next season can hopefully prevent, and the abuse/dissent towards officials is one where unfortunately it just isn’t going to happen any time soon! But yeah we’ll all I can say is that if the AR is banned then I think there may be a few strikes coming our way from what I’ve heard…

Robertson is a strange one, he’s constantly talking about mental health and being good to yourself and looking after and being respectful to others and yet is an absolute snide, bullying, aggressive shit bag. He’s a red though so he’s virtually untouchable.

Keane was brilliant, as well as saying he was a baby, I think it was a bit more that just concentrating on the game it was more specific and concentrate on his defending! if anything happens to the lino then the game has gone even more than it is at the moment, with player power totally taking over Great pen by Salah by the way ................

Refs and lino's should have a 'no go zone' of say 1 ft radius, which players cannot infringe. Any that do are fair game for a forearm smash, knee in the goolies or sprayed with mace or white line paint 👠

Robertson was in the ARs face a few times in the first half. At HT he went up to confront him. As is his right in any walk of life if the AR felt threatened or feared for his own safety he has every right to defend himself. If he is punished and Robertson gets away with it then the officials should consider a 1 week strike. Kids are following these idiots every move and mimicking there actions. I have even heard of 12 year olds covering their mouths when they talk to each other during matches. It’s time the FA took action.

Yeah well I’m hearing lots of rumours about a strike if certain things happen… But really if the AR is banned or punished then so should Robertson for grabbing him in the first place as well as getting up right in his face and shouting at him. And yeah well back when I officiated lower age categories a while back, or when I sometimes mentor some of the younger/newer refs doing them, see that sorta stuff all the time with kids covering their mouths, diving, contesting every decision etc… but it’s not just the players but also the parents and coaches too, acting like every games the World Cup final and all coaches thinking that they’re Mourinho, in the prem with world class officials and facilities where everything’s gotta go the way they want it to! But unfortunately that’s just grassroots and youth football these days!

If that's the case, football is definitely down the pan as a spectator sport. And Robertson should receive at least an eleven match ban, as David Prutton did back in the Redknapp days, although in that case it was that arsehole Fabregas that caused it.
| Linesman supposedly elbows Robertson at halftime on 08:57 - Apr 11 with 2592 views | saint901 | If the AR did intend to strike Robertson (and I don't think he did, he was just swatting away a fly) then frankly it's been a long time coming and the blame is squarely at the feet of the players and managers. For too long players have considered it acceptable to surround a ref and shout in his face.and to wave their arms around and generally act like spoilt kids. It was inevitable that something like this would happen and I'm surprised it's not happening every week. The respect that refs (and ARs) should have is missing and if they do strike and refuse to attend matches for a couple of weeks, that will not restore the balance but it will be a step in the right diretion. | | | |

That balloon Stephen Warnock will be fuming, he was calling for a 20 game ban for the ref the other day on that shocking SSN programme with Dermot Gallagher. Has Robertson been charged for grabbing the AR yet. Sorry, I meant Andrew Robertson MBE.

I don't think he should even have to apologise, some of these billy big bollox players need to be put in their place. Already financially privileged, they should have some respect for the sport that got them there.

With Carragher insisting that it would be better to spit at the linesman to minimise any physical contact.
| Linesman supposedly elbows Robertson at halftime on 10:32 - Apr 15 with 2120 views | dirk_doone | There should definitely be more of this sort of thing, starting with Harry Kane getting kneed in the groin by a ref (you can see the headline: 'The Pain in Kane') and building up to a Cantona-style karate kick delivered to the head of Bruno Fernandes.
