Ah, so the masses are just too immature and stupid, so those politicians lied to us because they had to protect us from ourselves.
What a sad way of looking at people. And, well, once again everyone, you get to witness precisely the sort of condescending philosophy that got Trump elected.

She is right in what she's saying.'The masses' here are, possibly more so than the US(?), subject to a conditioning process whereby all political thought is canalised within the parameters of a liberal-orthodox pale.
Then there's me and Steve Bannon.
An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

Ha. The funny thing is that you actually believe that gubbins about “liberal orthodoxy”.

I was actually thinking of the UK electorate on issues such as the interrelationship of the NHS, taxation, retirement age, care provision and so on as it happens. Or the inter relationship of globalisation and its adverse effect on local jobs and pay and it's beneficial effect on the availability of cheaper consumer goods and food.
Issues that are never debated properly due to the tribal nature of the UK party political system.
But it could also equate to the US electorate as well. Grown up enough to realise the correct response to the giant wotsit saying 'I'm going to defeat ISIS in 100 days' isn't to scream 'USA, USA' like a bunch of sugar-hyped infants, but to say 'and how the f*** do you intend to do that '?

That's a lot of thinking for a Sunday, love. What did you have for dinner?
An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.
No. Not kidding. Funnily enough one of the boys I was there with called over the house yesterday. I'll have to remind him of it the next time I see him.

Did he elaborate which country’s are the sh!t holes ?
I'm guessing the ones the US have been bombing and/or engendering regime change in for the theft of natural resources for the last hundred years or so.

If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face--forever.
