Carillion on 12:11 - Jan 27 by Jack_Meoff | Wow. To the layman mate that looks like a bank using complex financial instruments that are at best utterly shady, and at worst, surely borderline illegal! How can they get away with this?! Then again this is a bank that was founded on the back of opium money, and laundered Mexican drug money recently also. Chin chin! You're right about the comments too. People saying that the bank did nothing wrong and the person that did the deal should be rewarded. Meanwhile the taxpayer gets utterly shafted. Absolutely baffling. |
Its entirely legal, and tbh, even though HSBC will lose money, theyve managed the risk pretty well considering their exposure. If only others had done this back in 2008..banks looks after themselves first, second, and last. Notice RBS is attempting to offload risk on to the UK taxpayer and off their balance sheet. Even though the taxpayer owns RBS anyway. You should have a dig around about RBS and their Global Restructuring Unit that was shut down a few years ago. Its in the press at the moment if you look. Check the striking similarities about the culture of a unit which in effect, deals with businesses in similar situations to Carillion. Lots of top bods implicated. Even the current CEO of Santander who was there at the time. | |

Ooops.. | |
