NSR MOTD Last Night 09:50 - Jan 21 with 1695 views | STID2017 | Watching MOTD last night two things bugged me: 1 - The Brighton penalty that wasn't awarded. Not only was it blatant, but the keeper should have been sent off. The commentator said something like "The ref didn't have a good view" - the linesman had a great view and if up with play would have been yards away. 2 - The Man City penalty given after the faintest of touches on - who else - Raheem Sterling On a positive note, must say how good Rondon responded for WBA after that horrifying accident. Looked like MOTM for me. Wouldn't care normally, but that sort of incident can really affect some players

The fact that the commentator for the Chelsea game could see no wrong, even though the assistant must have had a clear view. Sterling diving again. Yes, both incidents helped us, but also illustrates what's wrong with the game. If either of those had been us (or another of the run of the mill sides) our keeper would have been sent off and a penalty given (quite rightly) and in the case of the Man City penalty, we'd have not got a penalty. It's the inconsistency that bugs me.

Unfortunately it is consistent. Big teams get the calls. Lesser teams get squat.

Evidence? Can you cite examples? How do you explain West Brom's penalty against Arsenal?

Didn't make any difference to the result but Arsenal should have had a penalty yesterday against Palace

I can't example all 700 odd games in a PL season and there will always be the exception that bucks against the trend, but if the perception of most fans and managers of "ordinary" clubs is that they get hard done by officials when it comes to decisions, it leads me to think there is too much truth in it. Just based on the small amount of games I watch closely (i.e. Swans games) we still seem disadvantaged compared to the bigger clubs when it comes to officials decisions.

NSR MOTD Last Night on 16:10 - Jan 21 with 1075 views | harryhpalmer | 100% penalty, but yellow card. It wasnt a goalscoring opportunity, plus it wasn't a deliberate foul, so the keeper wouldn't have been sent off. Part of the removal of the triple punishment rule. Different with the Pen we should have had at Newcastle, where their player SHOULD have been red carded and a pen given. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36047575
