I’m not a fan ether but it’s probably going to happen. Not many games go the full five days these days. And it’ll free up more time for the more lucrative white ball games. Which is the real reason.

Remember watching a New Zealand/Sri Lanker test a couple of years ago and there couldn't have been more than a couple of hundred spectators.

Kohli has a point though, if it does go to four days what's to say they wont try and reduce to three in the future...

The spinners are going to be most affected, and Australia's Nathan Lyon is already complaining.

I think they're going to lose 58 overs per Test match, bowling 98 overs per day instead of the usual 90.

1970's ... 75% went into the 5th day

1980's ... 77% went into the 5th day.

1990's ... 69% went into the 5th day.

2000's ... 58% went into the 5th day.

2010's ... 58% went into the 5th day.

But that fifth Test Match at the Oval last Summer wouldn’t have happened if had been a 4 day game.
