Cooper will be with us next season. 11:06 - Feb 3 with 3736 viewsNotLoyal

I’m certain he will grow with experience, not afraid to stick by his beliefs, has a good understanding of young players and dynamics. I think he could seriously shine next season for Swansea.

OK I've changed it.

I'd be back to Östersunds and be dragging Ian Birchnall back to the English pyramid.

Well sure if hypothetically Potter wouldn't have signed any players because only Steve Cooper is able to get PL loans for some reason then we might've struggled a bit, yeah.

I never said we'd struggle. We'd be in a similar position to where we are now.

Potter signed zero players in the January window. Cooper has far more contacts. Potter's youth signings (<23yrs) were Celina, Asoro, and Dhanda. Cooper's youth signings were Woodman, Surridge, Wilmot, Brewster, Guehi, and Gallagher.

Potter is a better manager and implements a better playing style, and Cooper is the better coach who has contacts with several players and clubs.

You forgot Cameron Carter-Vickers.

I wouldn't say Cooper is the better coach, based on evidence so far. Yes he has contacts, but I think Potter did the right thing and tested different players in different positions, formations and so on ( a key component of a rebuild?), even if you lose/draw more as part of that. Sadly he was probably more settled in who was best doing what and where by the time he left.

Cooper is just too "safe" for me (at the moment) - don't speculate, take risk or lose at all costs etc.. Time will tell though, as I think he will be with us for a while, for various reasons.

He's got a lot of improving to do. But lets hope he can improve and learn. Under Potter we were pretty average until the new year when we started to find our best form, especially from March onwards.

And to those who think we'd be in the automatic promotion places if we still had Potter as manager, I seriously doubt it. Firstly we wouldn't have signed any of the players we have this season. Secondly under Potter we were wasteful in front of goal and showed no clinical edge (Brighton are suffering the same problem). And finally, Brighton are 2 points above the relegation zone and many Brighton fans want Potter sacked.

Brighton fans want him sacked? From the ramblings I've read on social media they seem to be behind him. He's transformed a whole style of play in a summer as he did with us.

I'd put good money on it that Brighton will improve on last years points tally / position aswell

I've watched them a few times and they play good passing football - a far cry from their hoofball under Hughton. The problem is that they have no creativity in the final third. He's definitely doing a good job, but there's a few who aren't fans of him (not a majority though).
