I watched Declan John play for Wales u21 v Bulgaria 5 or 6 years ago. Wales won 3-1 and Wales youth player of the year Cardiff city O'Sullivan scored 2. (Now nowhere).
It was event to me Declan could not defend as a full back and the Bulgarian winger had a free pass. Everything else was fine. 6 years later he seemingly has not rectified these issues. Some players simply lack application. You cannot accuse Bidwell and Roberts of shirking.
I suspect Cooper sees in a player like Asoro as a weak link and lacking in the aspects of application. He simply cannot do what is asked of him. Therefore he will not be picked. Cooper would prefer to pick a player schooled in Swansea from the age of 8 in Bradley Gibbins than Asoro I suspect.
Why should Cooper speak in niceities.. McKay John watched QPR run rings around them last season and never played for Swansea again. [Post edited 8 Jan 2021 12:28]

2. To motivate him into trying his best to try and make him a contributing member of the squad.
Cooper doesn't have to be nice to him or saying anything nice about him. Just that he'll be assessed if he comes back to see what he can contribute.

Could it be a difference of opinion with his agent. His agent wants to put him in the shop window, Cooper says its not going to happen here basically he is not good enough, earn your money and find him another club. |  | | |

I think if you do not figure in the club's plans its wise to flag that up as early as possible to avoid a Narsingh situation. He was one of the few players the manager actually indicated was not putting in a shift.
Asoso knows he needs to find another club at a lower level or see his career drift for another 18 months. He absolutely knows the score. | |
