Thought we wanted him at Swansea, surprisingly. Wish him well, just can’t help thinking this is a mistake. Obviously freeing up wages.
MGW
Palmer
J. Evans
D.John
All off the wage bill.

Just saw Newport County on the EFL highlights show, couldn’t believe the state on the playing surface of Rodney Parade, looked like a ploughed field. Wouldn’t envy anyone playing 9n that surface. |
Jack not even in squad today, not sure if he was injured.
Few county fans I know reckon that Bennett lad who got sent off today has been awful for weeks and find it odd Jack hasn’t had a game.

The pundits were saying Newport have had 5 sent off in 7 games. The lad who got sent off had a straight red, maybe Jack will get his chance now.

Flynn's had suspensions to Sheehan and Labadie already to deal with and hasn't given Jack his chance, unfortunately. He's played Robbie Wilmott in there (ageing winger, since gone to Exeter), pushed Matty Dolan up from centre half, and they brought in Anthony Hartigan from Wimbledon who's younger than Jack but has near a hundred EFL games to his name. You have to hope Flynn is being truthful when he says he's being patient. Jack's only got a short contract but they're probably going to lose Sheehan and others in the summer. Nice to see Aaron Lewis given a contract and get a few minutes, he's one that needs a home and faith put in his obvious ability. Only got the one game during his loan spell. More "patience"?
It's a horrendous pitch and standard of football at Newport at the moment. Two wins in two months both against Grimsby second from bottom, who outplayed them for the vast majority of yesterday's game. Wales u21s bit-part player Harry Clifton a regular for them.
