In this country all the legislation on Trans gender rights was passed under Tony Blair in conjunction with the European Union, 1999 - 2010.
In this country those who are pushing to go further still are almost exclusively on the Left.
The Conservatives try to leave this issue alone as they support individual rights but know that their voter base think things have already gone to far...so they try to do nothing.
In America of course, as you pointed out, the difference is more stark. The left of the Democrat party IS the reason why it is now possible for men to break women's world weightlifting records and smash women's skulls to bits in the ring.
The Republicans who are trying to walk some of this back are always met with heavy Democrat opposition.
Idon't know enough about European nation's positions on this but it follows that the Left there support this bullsh*t and the right don't. |  |

I'm not particularly aware of the legislation, why any Brit would have much interest in the nitty gritty of US sports discrimination legislation is beyond me. Unless of course they've read about it on a forum for the lunatic fringe.
I'm considering this purely from my interest in Olympic Weightlifting and crossfit and have seen this debate on those fora numerous times.
I understand that the most liberal of these laws comes from the IOC, the NCAA and organisations like BUSA. Biden's order only refers to school sport associated discrimination and education rather than a competition perspective. The order itself only builds on a court order from 2020 which required it to be enacted within 100 days, and is also not especially liberal in global sports terms.
This isn't a right / left thing . It's an extreme point of view. Should transgender women by allowed to competitively weight lift, box, swim or run against a biological woman. Absolutely not, as it involves direct physical competition.
