That gets made out to be a lot worse than it actually is. Yes, it looks terrible and no I can’t see why he hasn’t been able to eliminate it from his game, but we’re talking the difference between an aerial 50/50 near the halfway line and an opposition throw in near the halfway line. It’s nowhere near as costly as it looks. |
I have just as much issue with the aerial 50/50, because with us it's not 50/50 is it. Plus he is unbearably slow when a quick pass or throw is on and he does that stupid roll the ball under his foot crap before whanging it back to the opposition.
Very ordinary at best. Develop Benda, let him make the mistakes and learn and develop, don't pay again to get something so uninspiringly mediocre. |  |

Well yes. The vast majority of his clearances stay on the pitch, but I doubt we win 50% of them. That doesn’t change whoever is in goal.
It’s all about opinions and I’m not against leaving him at Newcastle and giving Benda a chance, but I can’t agree with uninspiringly mediocre. Good defence or not, average keepers don’t get clean sheet records |  | | |
