| I am now “Non Binary Korean” 02:50 - Jul 2 with 2510 views | Dr_Parnassus | The world is absolutely bonkers. Full of people desperate to stand out, desperate to be noticed and using the latest social justice craze as a platform to justify and support their madness. British born “influencer” Oli London has doubled down on his assertion that he is "transracial," after declaring he now identifies as Korean. This is why so many people are not great fans of what some call “progressive” politics. It leads to sheer madness as it’s founded on pure nonsense. What a confusing time it must be for people to grow up in these days. https://www.google.com.au/amp/ [Post edited 26 Jun 2023 16:27]

| I am now “Non Binary Korean” on 21:17 - Jul 2 by Gwyn737 | What’s really interesting to me (if that’s the right word) is the impact all this gender stuff has on feminists. Feminists have fought hard for what they’ve achieved and gender changes are threatening to take it backwards. It’s could be the battle that holds non binary in check. |
Yep it’s absolutely fascinating, it really is. There were, and continues to be, so many contradictions in the modern day feminist rhetoric that it was bound to come full circle and they would have two of their views come to logger heads. Australia is pretty bad for it surprisingly, men’s right really are a secondary thought, a film documenting men’s rights was actually banned here. Crazy. There are so many issues with men’s health from social isolation in the elderly to suicide, both are off the charts when compared to women, yet completely ignored, largely due to these modern social movements.

| I am now “Non Binary Korean” on 21:23 - Jul 2 by Dr_Parnassus | That’s very refreshing to hear, although I would suspect you would not be in the majority with that one. I really don’t. Maybe the U.K. is different currently, but certainly in America where these ideas have really taken hold. I have heard and seen countless stories of teachers and professors losing their jobs over it. Not just the identity issue but the wider progressive social movement. The story of Professor Bret Weinstein is awful and as I understand from similar accounts, something not at all uncommon. The students at the university annually do a thing where the minorities decide to stay at home on a particular day of the year to make a stance on historical oppression and how they are needed on a day to day basis or something to that effect. However one year they wanted to change it and make all white students and faculty stay home. The Professor made the perfectly logical statement that "there is a huge difference between a group or coalition deciding to voluntarily absent themselves from a shared space in order to highlight their vital and under-appreciated roles, and a group or coalition encouraging another group to go away." He ended up losing his job. |
I’m sure that’s true and is more pertinent geographically within the UK and USA - big cities in the uk and the coasts in the US as a broad brush. Something else to throw into the mix, in regards to the UK anyway and is just a hypothesis, I’ve no evidence for this - I think the monetisation of higher education has had a massive effect. Universities have always been the preserve of of progressives finding their personalities and punching up. Only now they’re paying for the privilege. They’re now customers. Universities (needing bums on seats and good outcomes) give students what they want and not necessarily what they need. If that’s noplatforming and safe spaces then that’s what they’ll get. I don’t think it’s purely agenda driven, it’s market driven. There are posters on here who work in the sector who could give a better picture than me.

That’s an excellent point actually. You may well be right. The concern there of course is that we go back to the educational standards in decline thread, and we are then churning out generations upon generations of people that are then being taught there is need for “safe spaces” and deplatforming views they don’t like. Which then magnifies the issue. [Post edited 26 Jun 2023 3:30]

Well in most things you would be right, except the men’s rights issue. I understand where it came from, as there has been some high profile domestic abuse cases on women and any focus on men is seen to be taking the focus off women. But that’s not the case and will never be the case. But the threat of being seen to be doing that is enough for men’s issues to be completely ignored and actually seen as offensive to bring to light. It’s pretty sad actually. But in terms of everything else, it’s very refreshing. No bullsh*t is the best I can describe it

When you pay for your education the dynamic changes. When it comes to schools, the academies programme (which I have VERY mixed feelings about) has had undoubted success in turning around schools in challenging areas, largely down installing strict rules around behaviour and engagement. You can’t set these type of standards in HE when the students are paying for the privilege. I still stand by my points in the decline of standards thread mind! [Post edited 2 Jul 2021 21:54]

| I am now “Non Binary Korean” on 21:12 - Jul 2 by Gwyn737 | Headteacher 😉 In my schools this wouldn’t be an issue. We’d be scientifically factual and if asked the question on gender we’d say something along the lines of respecting someone’s right to live in the way they want to. Doesn’t change the facts taught around biological sex. This meets with my earlier point on tiny minorities making the most noise and often being offended on behalf of someone else. I’d wager my answer would be the same in 99% of the nations school. It’s the 1% that make the front page of the Mail and make the public think there’s a hidden agenda. Through my experience I genuinely don’t think there is. |
So you'd encourage your staff not to give an answer based on the fact for fear of hurting someone's feelings. You are the problem Gwyn. You are providing the cover for the liars and creating the framework that allows the deluded to deny reality. That is not education Gwyn. ...and by the way, the problem is the problem. It has nothing to do with the distraction technique of pointing people to minorities making a lot of noise. The reason why the subject of transgender is now an issue is because politicians who you support have made it an issue. The Left need to take responsibility for their actions. https://rumble.com/vjatjf-vict [Post edited 3 Jul 2021 1:19]

“ lesbian dance theory.”. You do know that’s a made up phrase by Ben Shapiro to describe what he terms worthless degrees don’t you? I know you claim you don’t just regurgitate Peterson and Shapiro but in this thread you’ve done quite a good job of pretending otherwise as you’ve regurgitated Shapiro on a made up degree and Peterson on a made up interpretation of a Canadian law. Obviously the person who’s pretending to be a non binary Korean is an absolute melt, doing it for clicks as that’s how they earn their money. Which seems to be working given it’s being discussed on here. In answer to Gwyn’s quite serious point on the issues around the political transgender movement and feminism, the political transgender movement is being driven almost exclusively by men. You’ll note that you rarely hear of issues around trans men (i.e. women who have transitioned to become men). It’s almost entirely a misogynistic, homophobic driven movement. All rights being eroded are those of women and gay people.

There has been quite a backlash over the past few months. Several court cases won by women asserting their sex based rights. Several protests over decisions such as that made recently by the Royal Academy to remove the work of a female artist from their collection over her assertion of sex based rights (a decision they’ve now reversed). Several organisations, government departments and companies beginning to sever ties with Stonewall. Bizarrely one of those who’s been of some influence in this is Liz Truss. (I know). Women are fighting back. Be under no illusion that, despite what some assert (including on here) through being quite ill informed, this is a fight, yet again, against men trying to remove the rights of women. None of that, however, excuses anyone refusing to accept someone choosing to identify as another gender if they so wish, or indeed as no specific gender or to refuse to use their preferred pronouns if requested. For them to do so is simply rude and ignorant for the sake of it.

I thank you Lisa, I was not logged in and read Dr P's post and was left thinking, is "Lesbian Dance Theory" a real thing. Then I read your post and looked it up. This non binary Korean thing is utterly mad but then so are some of the further right wing posts on here that are pure nonsense when you look into them. It’s what everybody calls it, it’s an umbrella term for degrees you can get at leftist centric Universities that perpetuate leftist ideals that have no worth in the community. I have no idea where its origin was, you may be right, but unsure what that has to do with anything? I know you are obsessed with Jordan Peterson and Ben Shapiro, but let it go, it’s (they’re) clearly eating you inside. Not everyone watches them you know, I don’t remember the last time I saw a piece with either of them on. Calm down. As for Bill C16 in Canada, that isn’t made up at all or anybody's interpretation, what are you talking about? You really are way too obsessed with Shapiro and Peterson, I don’t even know where to start with you on it, you must mention them every time someone makes a point you don’t like. Bill c16 is Bill c16, it’s simply that. Now back to the thread. Why do you think he’s (they are) “pretending” to be 'non binary Korean'? Isn’t that extremely offensive to say? How can you state what he is pretending to be when you don’t have his lived experience? The guy (not sure what you use instead of guy for someone non binary) has just had surgery for crying out loud. Do you reckon the Jenner guy did it for clicks too? What an awful thing to say. These people clearly have severe mental issues surrounding their identity. You sound like the beating drum of the radical left, it’s so depressing to read. You seem to be parroting talking points from these morons that pop up now and again for 5 mins of fame.... If you are a man, white man even better... or straight white man (the ultimate target), then anything they do is just to oppress and erode the rights of women and minorities. Such a tiresome and uneducated notion drenched in misandry and bigotry. You have equality Lisa, there is no fight, normal women want to disassociate themselves with your kind of groups for a reason. Almost all women agree with equality of the sexes, yet only 30% identify as a feminist. That’s because they don’t mean the same thing anymore and normal women are ditching the “movement” in their droves. And it’s largely down to views just espoused by yourself, just verbal madness. Don’t be so ridiculous. So women getting shorter sentences for the same crime, women having preferential treatment when it comes to court decisions over custody, zero say on the life (or death) of their unborn child, men at a greater chance of being the victim of violence, greater chance of mental health problems, suicide scale off the charts, western genital mutilation, susceptibility to and social results of false accusation... do I go on? Isn’t it, it’s such a cop out. The underhand misandry in Lisa’s posts are becoming palpable. It’s even more shocking when she clearly doesn’t know what she’s talking about on most subjects and the wealth of knowledge seems to span what she finds on a quick Google search or what her radical feminist peers preach to her. On the last thread that she was enticed into by bashing a wildly leftist ideal, she compared the plight of the Aboriginal people, who are an indigenous race, many of whom still live tribally in the Northern Territories with different education, health and social needs.. to African Americans. I have been in and around the subject for years as my partner is a professional in the health promotion sector for indigenous people... and I’ve never heard such an ignorant and offensive statement as that. And now a guy who has just transitioned to how he feels and identifies with inside is “making it up and doing it for clicks”. I wonder what she would call someone (a man specifically) if they said Bruce Jenner just transitioned for clicks. The bigotry and unapologetic contradictions in these people almost renders me speechless... almost.

| I am now “Non Binary Korean” on 02:15 - Jul 4 with 598 views | Dr_Parnassus | But really back to the thread and the subject intended to be discussed... Can someone tell me why it’s not fine for someone to say they are from another country of origin? By “fine” I mean socially compliant, because of course it’s fine for anyone to say whatever they feel they are. But I mean then socially getting the benefits of that identity where everyone has to then agree and be compliant to that identity. Such as allowing transgender women (men that now identify as women) to compete with biological women in sports, and pretend there is no difference for example. Nationality I would imagine is more commonly transient than sex or gender. I am now Australian for example, yet wasn't born that way, I could represent the country entirely legally if I became an incredible long jumper overnight. So just a little confused how the very same people that buy into the original notion of changing your appearance to represent how you feel inside (mentally), refuse to buy into the latter of doing the same based on nationality. The argument for gender reassignment is that gender is a social construct, while partially true, it is something seen up and down the animal kingdom and combined with biological traits and also tribes that do not have social contact would suggest is also innate. Nationality is a social construct in it’s entirety- far more than gender roles are. I doubt “Sweden” or the borders surrounding it exist or matter for anyone other than the human race that created them. Seems a massive contradiction that has people short circuiting up and down the globe. Reminds me of the fembot scene in Austin Powers. [Post edited 26 Jun 2023 16:35]

They haven't got an answer mate. You take their rationale on anything and take it to it's logical conclusion and it disintegrates every time. EVERY time. I can forgive youngsters for being stupid. They have no experience and are naive...but people who have children and responsibilities have no excuse, they should have grown up and figured life out a long time ago. The question for me is 'why do so many people who are 40+ continue to hold the views of idealist teenagers?' My answer; 'because the creation of a welfare state and the expansion of the state (so many in Wales are employed by the state, with no pressure to perform, no objective measure of their performance which results in consequences) has allowed people to never grow up'. We are a nation of Peter Pans. Anyone who reads History knows what happens next, it will not be pretty.
