Anyway, 4 CB's, 2 each at full back, 8 for midfield and 5 forwards. Thats 8 defenders for 5 positions, 8 midfielders for 3 positions and 5 forwards for 2 positions.
It all depends on how they play, if they can do what Martin wants succesfully but we should have enough depth unless we are unlucky with illness and injury, we will probably need some U23's to bolster us at times. Try to stay positive until the fan is hit!
Looking at midfield, the thought of Grimes, Ntcham and Downes could excite me, Smith, Fulton, Walsh and Williams fighting it our for the bench in my opinion. I also like the thought of Piroe and Obafemi up front.
People worrying so much about our squad need to remember that other clubs are having worse struggles. They haven't been able to strengthen, the division is probably going to be poor again this season. That should give us some leeway while we adjust. I'm reasonably confident we'll be mid table but will improve again for next season. | |

Better hope Obafemi's up to it, and not just another fast lad with "potential" whose PL parent club has given up waiting on. Along with Laird and Piroe there's big shoes to fill in terms of contribution of last season.
Williams doesn't add anything we were missing (another young right-footed centre half for the collection). Ntcham as well comes into an area where we didn't lose numbers. | | | |
