Indeed. Of all our defenders, he's the one that's most comfortable with the ball at his feet which is obviously why RM is playing him in that position. Gets caught out defensively from time to time but you can't have everything.

I thought Bennett had a great game as well. He is getting better at the style of play and the from Paterson to Bennett from left to right was on all day. Had a decent hit as well. Downes was my man of the match though, Moore couldnt do a thing Downes had him in his back pocket!

Definitely one of a handful of players who more than impressed Martin from the off - as he alluded to in one of his first pressers. As did Grimesy, Manning, Smith and Benda.

They were the quickest to 'get it' and help show the way. Unsurprisingly for Nauts and Grimesy in particular. Proper clever heads-up players.

Bennett had a massive influence on the game. Knew how to fight fire with fire but subtly . Was so gutted Smithies saved his piledriver
