What reception will he get then ?

Do you have any statistics to prove the accusation?

If so then I’m happy to look at it. Otherwise it sounds pretty baseless to me.

Trolling again.

Your statement" It is sad to say it, because it’s clearly not true" I simply asked you can you substantiate that statement .Not sure what trolling was going , perhaps a figment of your imagination, who knows and cares

Of course I can, there is no evidence to suggest anyone on here enjoys us losing. It’s a ludicrous statement.

But of course you know that and just getting twitchy because Cooper is about to come to town and people have dug themselves a hole.

They are laying the groundwork that if we do lose then instead of eating a bit of humble pie they will be accusing the sensible among us who correct they lies about him of enjoying it.

Predictable behaviour and straight out of the trolling manual.

If you do have any evidence to substantiate the claim people will enjoy it though, then I’d be happy to take a look.

Our failure to win play offs was down to Cooper especially when Brentford went a man down. No excuses.
He did achieve a play off place two seasons running.
It is my belief Martin will not.We have been primed not to expect this.

If we lose against Forest I will be nothing like happy no matter what some posters might think.
We all -at least most of us-put the club above personal opinion. If individuals are right or wrong,it matters not.

Our defeat in the play offs was down to Brentford being better than us.

In our previous 6 meetings prior to that Final which covers Coopers 2 seasons, we lost 11-5 over the course of them. They beat us by 2 goals or more in 50% of those meetings. Their squad was far superior to ours as they are now showing in the Premier League as they occupy 13th position.

Anyone expecting a win or suggesting we should clearly hadn’t been paying attention.

Also Brentford didn’t go a man down, we did. We had 10 men for a third of the game. People conveniently forget that.

A freak red card where his boot got caught in the other players making the challenge look far worse than it was.

We were 2-0 down when we had 11 players on the pitch. We did not have a shot on target when we had 11 players on the pitch. Those as you say are facts.

They are facts yes. Because Brentford were better than us and were consistently better than us for years previous.

The fact you are trying to reduce Coopers successful 2 year reign on losing a single match to a better team when we had 10 men for a third of it says it all.

We have had 12 months of this nonsense though so you are in good company.

He did a fantastic job. Far more than ok.

He equalled Brendan Rodgers’ record who is arguably one of the best managers in the Premier League.

Statistically he did - & I know you believe all statistics are facts - but we became a side better watched via notifications rather than in the flesh or on a big screen so it qualifies as ‘ok’ for me.

Just to be clear I am aware that is my opinion & not a fact.

PS & to be absolutely clear nowhere near Brendan Rodgers level.

Statistics are facts. We got 80 points, that’s absolutely factual.

We became a side that YOU preferred to watch via notifications maybe, I loved it. I always enjoy it when Swansea are competing at the top end of the table, can’t remember missing a game.

We were of course more attacking under Cooper than we are this season, and most people enjoy attacking side of the game.

We have no idea what level Cooper can get to. He equalled Brendans record League total and has taken bottom of the league Forest to above us very quickly, at a points per game ratio that would net the club around 85 points over the course of a 46 game season.

When he gets a Premier League job we can also compare achievements there. But to pretend he didn’t overachieve here is just bitter nonsense.

You know from my previous posts that you have replied to, that it is not all down to the Brentford, game its just that was the final straw for many. Do not continue to say that I can not judge the feeling from fellow supporters when I live in the city, meet with them and speak to them, where as you can from the other side of the world. Many supporters wanted him gone long before the play off final. In your world we were all wrong or you insist on not believing it. It just shows how detached you are from what Swansea supporters wanted.

Your previous posts referred to the second half of the season. You suggested we blew automatic promotion.

Except as I told you, even had we kept up the form from the first half of the season (which is an incredibly unfair expectation given our squad) then we would still have missed out on automatic promotion by quite some distance.

If continuing to progress year on year led to the final straw being losing to a clearly better side then you have to question the sense of those fans that claim it was the “final straw”.

If you accuse Cooper of being negative and lacking attacking intent despite being 4th, then I can only imagine how beside yourself you are now we are less attacking and 14th despite spending millions in transfer fees.

Which is why people can’t take the people with Cooperitis seriously.

If someone who slated Cooper for lacking attacking intent and not achieving a league position they think we should… suddenly decides they are happy attacking less and being in the bottom half, suggests it was more a vendetta than actual sensible issues they had.

I completely accept anyone who was unhappy with the lack of attacking intent under Cooper and continues to be unhappy with the even less attacking under Martin. The story makes sense.

I can’t be buying the contradicting rubbish trotted out though. Far too transparent to take seriously.

80 points is a fact absolutely - that is not the same as all statistics are facts

As I stated previously my dislike of our style was my preference as is your love of it - the result is only one part of football not everything.

Again I said nothing about his achievement, be it over or under expectation as that depends on your expectation, I personally believe he had a stronger squad than we have now so had he stayed I would have expected a drop off vs last two seasons.

I agree that, so far, we were ‘more attacking’ - although not 100% sure that is a recognised measure - under Cooper vs so far under RM but he has a further season & half to change that comparison for it to be equitable.

I guess our differences lay in our preferences on the eye or style of play vs pure results - I’m a Martinez/Rodgers/Laudrup vs Sousa/Monk/Cooper despite the fact we had similar statistical results, at least for a period of time, under all of them.

Each to their own I guess.

All statistics are facts. If they aren’t, then they are incorrect statistics.

You name a correct statistic and explain how it isn’t a fact. Shots on target? Possession? Goals scored? You name it.

I didn’t “love” or style, I recognised it was very much the best way we could and should be playing with that squad. People still claim Martin doesn’t have the tools to play the way he wants despite spending almost £5m this year. Spare a thought for Cooper then who only had 20% of that to spend per year.

We are less attacking. We don’t score more goals and we have less goal attempts, I think that’s a fair enough measure.

Martinez/Laudrup/Rodgers - all brought a successful style. They mixed the passing going long often after short passing has moved the opposition around. What we do now cannot be compared to any of those styles because apart from the possession stats, they aren’t remotely similar.

Same scenario here. If you think Swansea fans enjoy it when we lose, post your proof. That’s quite an accusation.

Until that time, it sounds ludicrous and will be treated as such.

As you asked - statistics are numerical calculations based on previous data used to calculate likely current/future outcomes or inform previous events & it is sensible to include statistical analysis in all outcome based analysis. That said they are not absolute facts.

Example

Footie in recent years has started using xG as a calculation of expected goals from the analysis of games - the very recent Everton vs Arsenal game had a level 1.06 xG for each side, so a draw yes alas for the Arsenal fans Everton nicked it 2-1. Or Watford - Chelsea gave a 0.99 to 0.91 xG in Watford’s favour, so at least a draw for Watford right? Alas for them Chelsea nicked in 1-2.

So whilst I completely agree with you that statistics are very informative & very useful to hold them out as always facts is both incorrect & fundamentally devalues other more human & analytical methods of assessment.

I’ll rest my case on this point as, I hope, we all have more important things to do in our lives than endlessly debate this point/statistic/fact.

xG is a prediction not a factual statistic.

There is a big difference between factual data and predictions based on that data.

Statistics based on what has happened, and not predictions of the future - are facts. What you responded to was the former, not the latter.

So there is no human analytical method that is better than a historical fact, it can only equal it - by stating the exact same thing as the stat does.

You will note I never use xG for that very reason.

The stats I use are facts. Absolute facts at that. Feel free to point out when you see me post a stat that you don’t think is a fact…. But you will struggle.
