Is Manning supposed to appreciate their former manager coming in and picking off his players? Don't think he should care one jot about maintaining a "good relationship" with us.

I personally didn’t read it like that. Struck me a s more about etiquette and choosing words a bit more carefully in a public environment.

What he's said will likely go down well with their fans. Don't think there's any lack of care in his words. Etiquette is overrated. Let the board know you're not happy when you've dragged them up to 5th in the league.
