The US troops are there at the behest of the South Koreans, that is enough. The USA has not colonised South Korea, it is not threatening to take over as the Russians appear to be doing to Ukraine.
They are there to defend the border and to make NK think twice about any other rogue actions. Even so the USA has less than 25% of the troops that Russia has amassed on the Ukrainian border.
So what comparison is there to troops in a country at the request and agreement of the host country and troops massing to invade a sovereign state? |
