| What does supporting/following the swans mean to you as an individual? on 12:55 - Apr 10 with 428 views | 1983 | It was all about the social life I was in my early teens when I started going to the Vetch in 1983 and I was 35 yrs old in 2005 when we left there and I loved the place and I felt a part of my life disappeared over night with so many memories good, bad, funny, sad you name it I seen it with great mates standing/sitting in every part of that ground. I'm glad to have supported my local team with crowds of 2,000 while other people were turning their noses up at you. I'm glad I was there when football was unfashionable, cr@p and edgy and you had to walk through 6 inches of standing water to go into the toilet to then stand in 6 inches of pi$$ to use the toilet. All that went when we left the Vetch and everything changed I fell out of love with Swansea City FC but I still very much support them unfortunately I can count on one hand the amount of times I've been to the Liberty in the last 10 yrs and only tend to go to away games now. I don't like the happy clappy popcorn sterile environment which is not wrong it's just not what I like | |

Could always ask them to lower the standard of the toilets if you like ? Shame you dont get to home matches much, but understand where you are coming from | |

| What does supporting/following the swans mean to you as an individual? on 17:05 - Apr 10 with 324 views | glanmORJa_k | Brought up in Burry Port, in the early 60's, and with some mates catching the train to Swansea to watch the Swans and from then on the drug started to take hold regarding going to the Vetch Field and all things the Swans, interspersed with playing football in the Swansea League. Regular journeys on Ugo Tours to away games even bringing our daughter and one particular weekend when she announced late in the week that she was coming home to Swansea we told her that we had booked to go to Gillingham. Needless to say, a friendly word with Ugo saw her join us on the trip less than twelve hours driving back to Swansea on the friday night, followed by twelve hours later after returning from Gillingham, her driving back to Essex!! Sadly, it's in the blood with our grand daughter already integrated into the Swans Travel club. Every where we go etc. etc. | | | |
